Trouble setting up the DJI Mini 3 Pro RC

Well, I bit the bullet and bought the DJI Mini 3 Pro RC drone. The batteries in the drone and the RC are all charged and installed.

I turned on both and I got a start-up requirement on the RC. Simple at first.

When it came time to enter a password, I had problems (attached photo). I tried passwords from the past and present for my internet router as well as my phone. I even tried the 12341234 default. None worked.

I'm 76 with a form of dementia. What one would think would be simple to do is not the case for me. I cannot adequately describe the level of frustration that I am experiencing.

I would greatly appreciate help from anyone who can help me step by step whether it's with the phone, the RC, or both.

Thank you in advance!

Is that a picture of your phone screen, computer screen, RC screen or?

It looks like that whatever it is, it is trying to connect to your household router. Some routers have their default passwords printed on them.

RC screen. I tried the router P/W. Even my internet provider helper checked to make sure that the P/W was correct. It was. I have since contacted DJI and waiting for a response. I'm beginning to wonder it the RC might be faulty. :-(

Dale-- Which controller did you get with your Mini 3 Pro? The RCN1 controller (the controller that doesn't have a built-in screen (which thus requires you to plug in and use a cell phone or a tablet upon which you'd have downloaded DJI's 'Go Fly' app to link the two (the controller and the drone), set safety, camera, software updates and such parameters with, and ultimately be able to fly your drone) or the RC controller (that has a built-in screen and which would've had the Go Fly app already pre-loaded)? Setting up Wi-Fi on either controller is relatively straightforward, but is ONLY necessary to download and install software updates for both the drone and the controller, and while that IS something you'll definitely want to do, and doing so can be done either via a wireless connection to your (home?) router or a wired connection to your computer, but Wi-Fi is NOT necessary to use/operate either the controller or the drone. The Mini 3 Pro does not use the same form wireless/cellular transmission that we'd typically use to connect our cell phones; it uses what DJI calls 'OcuSync', and in use (while flying) wireless service --"Wi-Fi"-- is actually disabled.

So far as doing your initial set-up goes, as mentioned above, YES, you WILL want to install the software updates that have been made available (there's been half a dozen since the time your drone was actually made), but even if you didn't, you'd still be able to use your controller and fly your drone.

But more to the point of your need for assistance:

Assuming you have the RCN1 controller --an assumption I may be wrongfully making, but assume because you mention attempting to enter your phone's Wi-Fi password-- as pointed out (above) by bsprague, your router's wi-fi password should be printed on your router. If it isn't, no worries; simply connect your controller to your computer via the USB - USBC wire that should've been supplied with your drone and controller. (BTW... did you get the FlyMore package, or just the drone and controller?) If you haven't already done so, go to DJI's web site and download and install their free DJI Assistant 2 software onto your computer. With your controller and/or drone connected to your computer via hardwire, no wi-fi assistance will be needed and you can install the updates you'll want.
