That's kind of what I wanted to hear! Thank you.
I started with K100D, then K-x, and K-50. The K-50 developed the aperture block issue, apparently fairly frequent. That's when I obtained the K-5iis used. Never looked back. K-50 can be used in manual, but I haven't tried that. I am also having difficulty with hand-held shooting due to age??? as well as arthritis in my "shutter" hand thumb. Sucks! Keep on shootin'!
Thanks so much for your quick reply. I'm not planning to shoot live insects so not worried about getting so close and therefore not looking for increased focal length. Mostly shoot flowers and in winter would like to shoot interesting small objects in our home. GAS is part of it! Your experiences and insights are very helpful! Go Pentax! Thanks.
I am using Pentax manual 50 mm f/4.0 macro lens (1:2) on Pentax K-5iis. I'm looking at manual Sigma 50 mm f/2.8 which is 1:1 image. I've fooled around with extension tubes a little but not a fan. What's the opinion on this move? Looking for increase in image size as well as quality. My question has more to do with the image outcome as opposed to opinions on the specific lenses. Thanks in advance!

Backblaze is $50 per year, works in the background. When Windows 10 forced an upgrade on my desktop last May, I lost everything, and thankfully I was able to restore all files, images, etc. It won't restore programs but that was easy.
In early May, my Win 10 auto updated to build 1803. I had no choice. The update failed and I was stuck in an endless loop; first screen asked me to choose a keyboard language which I did, and it kept looping back. I spoke with a PC technician who was keenly aware of the problem with this build Andreas quite concerned that thousands of users were affected. Had to do fresh install of Win 10 from my original recovery discs. Lost all programs and files but had backups via Backblaze (another lengthy and difficult process). My images were stored on an external drive and I was able to reinstall programs. Then, 2 weeks ago I got another update (again, no option to block as all shutdown choices included update). Two separate chats with Microsoft allowing them to remotely control my PC finally worked. A horror story and if this was an automobile defect, it would be all over the place publicly.
I was born and raised in Philly, now in Chester County. I was in the first class that started yearly versus 2 classes- Northeast, 1965. Your post is very cool and informative!
For those who care, the Philadelphia School District graduated two classes each year—January and June—until 1966. Our January class was slightly smaller than the following June class. I don't know why our gender makeup was 57 percent girls and 43 percent boys.[/quote]
