Would like to create a multi hundred..thousand? pic back ground collage. Is there some commercially available sw to accomplish this? My average individual jpg pic size would be 1-2 mb.
Thanks, Steve411

Many software options available.

I use Picasa because it's quick, free, versatile and it does allow custom photo backgrounds.

The examples that I posted were originally super large, but I downsized most of them to fit on Facebook.

This is an original collage. If you wish, you should be able to download it and see each face clearly.

For those who care, the Philadelphia School District graduated two classes each year—January and June—until 1966. Our January class was slightly smaller than the following June class. I don't know why our gender makeup was 57 percent girls and 43 percent boys.

Didn’t know Picasa had that feature.
I could have used it last month.

I was thinking the OP was asking about a photomozaic, where you have potentially hundreds of tiny photos combine to make up one large photo.
I’ve done it several times, but don’t have access to a sample at the moment.
A program like EazyMoza makes it simple to do.

This is not free but pretty reasonable.

A good thought. I took his word "collage" literally.

He did say collage, not mosaic.
I may rework that collage I did last month.
It’s needed for a meeting next week.
Does the Picasa program allow for putting in text somewhere?

One fun thing to try is to make a collage from everyone's lips and ask them to find themselves. They really liked that.

Absolutely Picasa has a text feature, either captions or many texts overlaid on the image.

If you need any phone advice, just send me a message with your phone number and email address via UHH message feature.

Thank you.

Try this.

There seem to be several sites still making it available.

If not, I might be able to transfer you a Mac version via Dropbox.

As an added benefit, once you have your pics arranged in a folder and created your collage, Picasa has options to easily create and upload a YouTube slideshow video from the same pics.

I find that the "kids" prefer this because they can view the entire lot without clicking through individual images. Plus, it's easier to share a video with the unfortunates who missed their reunion.

When I was a chemical engineering undergrad in the sixties, each class usually numbered 40-or-so boys and one girl. Twenty years later when I recruited at the same school for my company, the chem eng classes were pretty much half-and-half.
