Looks like the L-358 gets the vote. Yup, me too. I used a Gossen Luna Pro for many years, but it finally went waaaaay out of calibration. It too is an excellent meter.

If you shop for a used meter, get it from a reputable dealer, B&H, Adorama, KEH, and read the fine print. They all have some sort of guarantee.

E-bay is not a good choice unless you find a great price on a new one, with full factory warranty.

looks like your focus point is about 3 riders back. Otherwise a 3/4 angle from the left would have been great.

Hey Dan, nice shot and excellent exposure considering the amount of highlight and shadow you had to work with.

Reckon you could shoehorn that baby into my 2000 Jeep Cherokee?

Two cameras...Minolta 7D (a real tank, but it works and fits my big hands), and a Canon SX30IS point and shoot. A Bogen 3221 tripod and ball head. My carry around bag is small, one camera, light meter, a few filters, the usual spare cards, batteries, and a small flash. I do have a Pelican case which holds everything not in the small bag. The beauty of the Pelican case is I don't have to worry about piling stuff on top of it for the trip. We drive about 1000 miles each way.

Kodak was never really in the business of making cameras. I once had a Kodak Instant Print, that was involved in a class action suit with Polaroid. Kodak lost, and I got a ten-pack of 35mm film for my trouble...my choice as long as it was Kodak film.

I would not be surprised if the main purpose of Kodak cameras was to sell film. Now that x-rays have entered the digital age, Kodak lost a huge market.

Well why are you crying about it ??? Just do it ! other people have their own problems .

I hope your stuff works perfectly all the time, so you won't have to ask for assistance from your fellow UH'ers.

I knew what my other options were if no one was able to offer assistance getting my current reader back on line, and I stated that.

I like the convenience of my internal card reader, which is what crapped out. I built the computer, so it won't be any real trick to install a new one, just a pain in the butt disconnecting the computer and opening it up.

In the meantime, I will get an external card reader cause I need one right away, and they certainly are cheap enough.

Hope you were in the car. A momma bear (black, brown, griz, polar, you name it), with cubs is about the most dangerous thing
in nature. The partial remains of an unfortunate who got afoul of a momma and cubs, was found in the Smoky Mountain National Park some years ago.

I almost ran over a tiny cub on my motorcycle. The big problem, I could not see where momma was. Fortunately the cub managed to scamper across the road before I needed to completely stop. The females always cross before the cubs.

A Zeiss Ikon rangefinder was my first 35, followed by a hot Pentax SL. I thought the SLR and a 50mm lens were the best things since sliced bread.

One day when I get ambitious, I'll scan my old slides and put them on here. I hope I still got the one of me taking a picture of me reflected in the noseglass of a Sidewinder missilel.

My SX30 doesn't seem to be magnetic.

Saside,

I've been meaning to ask you: What is that machine on your avatar, I've been going crazy trying to figure it out?

Appreciate your reply Saside. I will have to do that until I get another drive for my computer. I tested the USB port on the front of the card reader, and it works, so I know the internal USB connection is good.
