In preparation for the Annular Eclipse, I was doing a test run with my Fujo XT-4 and Tamron 18-300 lens. It was hot in Los Angeles, approaching 96 deg F, and I started getting overheating warnings on the rear screen. At the time, I was only taking a handful of still images, no video. It will be at least 20 deg cooler in Albuquerque, so I wonder if this is just a localized issue due to the extreme temps in LA?

Tulip Nebula Sh2-101 5871 L.Y. in the constellation Cygnus. A very active Hydrogen Alpha region of the Milky Way.

If you look to the nebula's right, you'll see a faint arc curving away from the Tulip nebula directly in line with my watermark. That, I am told, is the shock wave from Cygnus X-1, the first supermassive black hole ever discovered.

Eye of God or Helix nebula, 695 L.Y. in the constellation Aquarius. The Helix is an image of a dying star, shedding its outer layers as it evolves into a supernova. In several billion years, this will be the fate of our Sun.

Integrated 70 ea 120-sec sub-images and Processed in Pixinsight. Finished in Lightroom CC

I do not understand your question. Do you want to adapt your F lenses to a Z body? Or comparing the quality of Nikon F and Z lenses?

It's a beautiful aircraft in a kind of hodge-podge kind of way. I was at the US Naval Test Pilot School in the 80's. We had a couple MIGs. I was amazed at the lack of fit and finish, compared to the American built Aircraft!

I think Stalin said when you lack quality, quantity has a quality all its own.

After a major computer crash I needed to uninstall and reinstall Lightroom Classic. I was able to get back my original folder structure and photos, but I find no way to retrieve the Collections that I had originally. Are they lost or is there a way to retrieve them? Any help would be appreciated.

How did you reimport images? Drag and drop or reload saved catalog? My Lightroom photos are in my Dropbox folder, and can be easily loaded back onto a local HD.

Here in Dallas we should get 80-85 percent eclipse and then April of 2024 the full total one.
I am going to get the filter sheeting mentioned here in the threads and cover my lens.
Looking forward to your posts of your visit.
Bruce.

That sheeting is not easily installed, can come loose, and can have wrinkles. Go to http://www.thousandoaksoptical.com/index.html and get a screw-on filter to match your lens.

I will be in Albuquerque for the tail end of the Balloon Festival and, more importantly, the October Annular Eclipse. My region knowledge is limited, so I am looking for suggestions for a viewing location with an interesting foreground.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have used the Remove Tool in PS Beta, but I'd like to use it in Photoshop. I saw a video where they were using it in Photoshop and I tried to find it in the Edit, Toolbar as was suggested but I couldn't find it there. I'm running PS 24.0 and Creative Cloud says I'm up to date, but someone said they can get it in PS 24.4.

Does anyone know how I can get it in PS without using Beta?

No, it's in the Beta app. Usually, a major upgrade is in October.

The Eagle Nebula is the location of the Pillars of Creation, first imaged by the Hubbel Space Telescope. It is 7000 L.Y. from earth in the constellation Serpens.

To finish this image, I developed some new processing techniques in Pixinsight, the preeminent Astrophotography application, and Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. The Pillars of Creation is in a heavy Oxygen III region in the nebula's center. The hook-shaped structure to the left is called the Eagle's Eyrie.

I am particularly pleased with the final result; my best effort in 2023.

Wonderful image! But I don’t see a lobster in that view 🥺

It is also known as the War & Peace Nebula. Do you see that in the structure of hydrogen alpha and Oxygen III?
