Mark I am glad that at least you called it an albatross. In the article it's referred to as a DOUBLE EAGLE. An expression common for American golf commentators. An expression which is ridiculous and I wish they would stop using it. An Eagle is two under par - a double eagle would be four under par - like getting a hole in one on a par five.
Three under par is an Albatross as you so correctly said NOT a double eagle.

Wise words from the lady I had as my supervisor as a young nurse. I have continued a close relationship with her during my career. She has always provided the example that I strive for.

If you want to be strong, be patient, thoughtful and understanding. Anyone can be rude, but it takes real strength to be kind and polite.
👣If you want to be strong, be persistent. Enduring strength does not come in an instant, but is steadily built over time.
👣If you want to be strong, get in the habit of taking action. The strongest people are those who act while others only talk or wish.
👣If you want to be strong, be humble. Put your focus on doing, rather than worrying about getting credit.
👣If you want to be strong, be joyful. When you enjoy what you're doing, you are far more effective.
👣If you want to be strong, be yourself. The real strength you have is in the authentic person you are.
Today, be Strong and be blessed.👣

Very good advice Sam and I am glad you are taking it from your mentor.
I have the utmost appreciation for nurses - always have. I was in hospital last week for 5 days with a COPD exacerbation and when I was admitted they discovered I also had Covid. Not enjoyable, but I was fortunate enough to be looked after by some of the best nurses I have ever had. They were just wonderful. And I wrote a letter to the Hospital Administrators telling them so when I came out. Stay strong Sam and enjoy your nursing career - it's hard but very rewarding.

And all the best for the New Year to you and yours Sam.
The first few lines of that remind me of a saying my grand daughter left with us before she went home yesterday.
she has a habit of writing little sayings and leaving them for us to find.
Yesterdays was "Being Happy never goes out of Style"

My fiancé has tickets to the armed forces bowl game today. We had planned to attend together. I backed out due to the weather forecast. The game is played in an outdoor stadium. The temperature at kickoff will be 16 with wind gust to 40mph by the end temperature of 13 and wind chill -5. He is going with one of his buddies. I realize people from Green Bay and Chicago would think nothing of those temperatures. We are in Fort Worth Texas this is totally abnormal.
As the title of the post says..now I know for sure I'm getting married to a nut.

An elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%.
The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again."

The gentleman replied, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!

Horace grabbed his plate and walked up to the buffet for the third time.

“Aren’t you embarrassed to go for so many helpings?” asked his wife.

“Not a bit,” Horace replied, “I keep telling them it’s for you.”

🎅SHY SANTA🎅

Isn't it the strangest thing,
That Santa is so shy?
We can never, never catch him,
No matter how we try.
It isn't any use to watch,
Because my parents said,
"Santa Claus will only come
When children are in bed!"

Very lovely Sam. You are a sweetheart. I bet you are a great nurse. My 79 year old wife is in hospital after back surgery. She comes home on Saturday - best Christmas present ever.

I don’t really follow The Attic, but sometimes see interesting posts from there when looking at the Newest Topics section.

What I see, from folks on both sides of the political spectrum, is that when citing another person or article, post, etc., too many do not consider their source or wh**ever objectively; in other words, they read what they want something to say rather than what is really being said, making their statements look foolish. Read and consider objectively, my friends, before sticking your feet in your collective mouths. Just a thought.

That is a common problem in life not just on UHH Attic. It is very noticeable in debates (arguments).
In family life - teenage kids and parents etc. We, in the sales and marketing business referred to it as "The message sent Vs The message received"

The game show contestant was only 200 points behind the leader and about to answer the final question - worth 500 points!

"To be today's champion," the show's smiling host intoned, "name two of Santa's reindeer."

The contestant, a man in his early thirties, gave a sigh of relief, gratified that he had drawn such an easy question. "Rudolph!" he said confidently, "and, ...Olive!"

The studio audience started to applaud (like the little sign above their heads said to do,) but the clapping quickly faded into mumbling, and the confused host replied, "Yes, we'll accept Rudolph, but could you please explain... 'Olive?!?'"

"You know," the man circled his hand forward impatiently and began to sing, "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glowed. *Olive,* the other reindeer..."

Life Is a

Today
before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't

Before
you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone

Before
you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone
who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

Today
before you complain about life - Think of someone who went

Before
whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who
walks the same distance with their feet.

And when
you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the

And when
depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on
