Wise words from the lady I had as my supervisor as a young nurse. I have continued a close relationship with her during my career. She has always provided the example that I strive for.


If you want to be strong, be patient, thoughtful and understanding. Anyone can be rude, but it takes real strength to be kind and polite.

My fiancé has tickets to the armed forces bowl game today. We had planned to attend together. I backed out due to the weather forecast. The game is played in an outdoor stadium. The temperature at kickoff will be 16 with wind gust to 40mph by the end temperature of 13 and wind chill -5. He is going with one of his buddies. I realize people from Green Bay and Chicago would think nothing of those temperatures. We are in Fort Worth Texas this is totally abnormal.
As the title of the post says..now I know for sure I'm getting married to a nut.

An elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%.
The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again."

The gentleman replied, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!



Horace grabbed his plate and walked up to the buffet for the third time.

“Aren’t you embarrassed to go for so many helpings?” asked his wife.

“Not a bit,” Horace replied, “I keep telling them it’s for you.”

I don’t really follow The Attic, but sometimes see interesting posts from there when looking at the Newest Topics section.

What I see, from folks on both sides of the political spectrum, is that when citing another person or article, post, etc., too many do not consider their source or wh**ever objectively; in other words, they read what they want something to say rather than what is really being said, making their statements look foolish. Read and consider objectively, my friends, before sticking your feet in your collective mouths. Just a thought.

The game show contestant was only 200 points behind the leader and about to answer the final question - worth 500 points!

"To be today's champion," the show's smiling host intoned, "name two of Santa's reindeer."

The contestant, a man in his early thirties, gave a sigh of relief, gratified that he had drawn such an easy question. "Rudolph!" he said confidently, "and, ...Olive!"

The studio audience started to applaud (like the little sign above their heads said to do,) but the clapping quickly faded into mumbling, and the confused host replied, "Yes, we'll accept Rudolph, but could you please explain... 'Olive?!?'"

"You know," the man circled his hand forward impatiently and began to sing, "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glowed. *Olive,* the other reindeer..."
