I sure hope you framed a copy of that and donated it to the fire department those men belong to. What a great shot.
Beautiful owl. We have tons of them around our house but hardly ever get to see them because they blend in with the trees so well.
He gets them from an email from Odd Stuff Magazine (but he seems to take credit for all the pictures he posts).
I know it's not a sweet gum because we have them in our back yard. I guess I'll have to head back to Olive Garden and see if I can peel off the bark.
Could be. Since the tree didn't have leaves yet, I couldn't tell.
Nope, they're golf ball sized.
I've been lurking on here for years now, but never post any pictures because I don't have a camera (just an iPhone). I was out today and saw this tree. The little things dangling looked like upside down hedgehogs to me. The tree was covered with them. I don't have a clue what kind of tree it is. So I just call it the "hedgehog tree".
I think pipesgt should give credit to where he gets all his funny pictures--daily e-mails from Odd Stuff Magazine.
Now those are gorgeous shots.
Forgive me, but I'm a lurker on here. I don't have a decent camera and don't have any pictures to offer, but I thoroughly enjoy getting on here every morning to see what everyone has posted. I especially enjoy the robins and blue tits from England (lived there for 3 years).
That being said, this is one of the most fantastic pictures I've seen on this board. I love the stark white against the dark background. The picture is eerie, yet beautiful. If I were on American Bandstand, I'd give it a 10.

Sorry,I should not have put it in
Don't worry about it. I was fuming the first time I saw it until I checked out Snopes.
