I've been looking through my archives of surfing photos and found some that I consider worthy to share with my UHH friends.
These are all from Huntington Beach, CA shot from the pier.

Brent... you've done it again. A beautiful set of photos sir.

These stacked stone fences or stone walls are very common in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. I have never seen fences like these anywhere else. I have lived or traveled all over the US and in Asia and Europe. Have any of you UHHers seen similar fences outside this region? I am just curious, because I have only seen these in this area. The stones are stacked, with no mortar holding them together. That is fairly obvious in the shot of the damaged area of the fence. If you have seen this style of fences outside this region, please reply with where you have seen them.

These fences are somewhat similar to those in The Azores, Portugal, Ireland, Scotland and other places around the world.

A grateful whale

On the front page story of the San Francisco Chronicle on Thursday, Dec 15, 2005, you would have read about a female humpback whale who had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines.

The fifty-foot whale was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her her tail, her torso and a line tugging in her mouth.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the Farallone Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed an environmental group for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so bad off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her - a very dangerous proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her. When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and nudged them, pushed them gently around - she thanked them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.

There's nothing more relaxing than grabbing my camera, loading my lil chihuahua Vinnie Paws, and driving down the road. Here in Kansas, we have amazing sunsets/sunrises...wide open rivers, creeks, trails, and lakes with gorgeous sundown views. I am happy to be here and living life....welcome to my journey.

Nice couple of shots kiddo! You apparently have an eye. I spent about 22 years living in Newton, Kansas... you know where that is? Now I'm permanently in Phoenix and we love it here although there aren't as many photo-ops here on a daily or even a weekly basis.

Anyway I love your work, keep it up and keep on posting.

I took this eagle shot last week, then cleaned up the out of focus limbs. I posted both versions on Facebook and at least one person liked the original best. I'm considering whether to print it or not, and if so which one. Personally, I like the cleaned up version, but would like confirmation from you.

I think the original looks better. If you remove the branch on the right but leave the rest, that would give you the natural look. Good Luck.

I was looking at some of the pictures that I took on a recent trip to Costa Rica. There were several sunsets that I liked. I processed them differently in lightroom. Which do you like better and which to you dislike?

They're all good but for my taste #1 is the best.

I want to thank everyone that critiqued my photos. I knew that I had the right gear, but it was getting the right gear, on the correct settings and sitting in a good location that produce these photos at my grandson wrestling match. Although the opposing team didn't have a team member his weight class, I started clicking away at those that did. During the match, I was approached by 2 people from my grandsons school to share my photos in there yearbook and in the teams wrestling pictorial. I'm using a Canon 7D mii with a Sigma 70-200, f2.8 sitting on a monopod.
I have been reading various post regarding photo programs for Post Production. I have used Photo Shop2 and Photo Elements years ago and have been using a low end PP up to now but feel I need to upgrade my PP program. With most of my photos being sports action and wildlife, is/are there PP programs that lean towards this type of photography or will most of them take care of what I need? Also with my family spread from the US to Scotland and Australia, do the photo programs have a photo website that I can setup for my family to view? These photos are much better then the last set I posted and their still room for improvement ie... not so tight on the shot and adjust my point of focus (this was single center fp. Maybe should of dropped down 1 mark). Again, thanks to everyone for you suggestions.
