A couple of nights ago some pop-up thunderstorms came through the Lehigh Valley. With intermittent periods of rain and sun I was sure there would be rainbows around. I jumped in the car and began circulating to find one. I did find one but it was very dim and would not have been a good shot. On the way back home, the sun was low in the sky and there were some excellent cloud formations. Here are a few shots I took:

Great shots Mike! I live in Easton, PA and saw these clouds.

I've found with Olympus that OEM batteries just won't charge in some non OEM chargers and vice versa.

I've never had this problem. I use a Watson charger and it works fine. And I use only OEM batteries

I always thought horses slept standing up , and that lying down for a horse was life threatening, so a lying down horse would bd set upright fir survival . Where did that info come from ?

That's basically true. Except if you notice there are some that are still standing up (even if they are sleeping). They can 'lock their knees so they don't fall down while asleep and can also act as watchers for the rest of the herd. Also, they don't sleep for very long periods at a time.

Thank you for the update! I'll be down on Thursday, visiting my 99 year old mom and always take at least 1 trip to the wetlands. Sorry that I'll be too late for the owls. :-(

Very good portrait of the heron.

As to his attitude - I would loudly mutter "Mom's recipe for Southern Fried Chicken should work for herons."

or as I say to my parrots when they are being extra noisy "hmm....maybe parrot stew for dinner"
