Exactly. As we all know, once you buy into a brand, get all the associated gear/lenses, its really painful to switch to another company. The financially smart thing would just stay where I am and not fuss about the mirrorless world and the rapidly evolving technology around the corner. You can't buy a winning photography. But........Just wondering what other's experience has been.

I've been a Nikoner for 12 years from D80 thru D850 and have way too many lenses just to walk away. Has anyone out there made the switch to Sony and successfully used the Nikon lenses on the Sony FF? That new Sony A1 is just too tempting to pass up.
Thanks in advance for any useful suggestions, other than to sell the whole lot and start over, possible but hate to.

Very nice rendition. Don't apologize for IR. We can't be all things for everyone. If its your thing, post your best and let others decide whether to appreciate it.

This traditional "tunnel view" captured on the east side of the south entrance tunnel is popularly thought to be the site of Ansel Adam's famous photo of the "Clearing Storm." Not so. Actually that photo was captured on the old road above this popular site, which can be accessed some distance down the road where the old road intersects the current hiway. It's quite a hike up to the original site. There is no proximate parking, making it even more challenging. This is a nice view captured recently. I'm not seeing any forest damage from the dying trees. Was this photo edited, or is it just not apparent.

I understand corporate frustration be it Nikon, Fuji, or Canon. Might I suggest again, Photo Tech, 212-673-8400; located just down the street from B&H, 360 W 36th St, Ground Floor, NY, NY 10018. They'll fix anything, US market or grey market without complaint, promptly, professionally and at a reasonable price.

Given the number of companies struggling for FF market share, and the diminishing sales world wide of all cameras, and they already make a great crop frame and mid formate, why would they even think about entering the FF market?????

Just so everyone knows, "Photo Tech Repair Service, located just down the street from B&H in NYC will repair any camera/lens, regardless of origin, faster, and less expensively than Nikon. I too don't recommend a "grey camera," but if you get stuck with such an item, there is help.

I personally have enjoyed this discussion with honest objective critiques, well accepted by the author. Too often, this site offers "facebook likes" that are not helpful for the authors or readers. Achieving a "painterly" effect can be tricky and too often repetitive with it brush patterns. Just learning the "art" and it will take time to other than just click.

I've had all three cameras you are discussing. The 7200 is an awesome camera. When I moved up to the 800's, I gave it to my son who really likes it as well. The fuji is also an awesome camera, built for photographers. There are no amateur setting and the learning curve is initially steep, but the images are just great. I has focus peeking. You can do specific selective color selections, mimic old film types, etc. It is not a wildlife/sports camera in the class of the Nikons D500, D850. The lenses are sharp, the color is the best I've ever seen. You can also get an adapter and use your Nikon lenses as well. Finally, it is a great walk-around, street and travel camera. It and the accessories are light and obviously compact. I wanted to have my wife, "new to photography, not inclined to really get into photography," but its lack "auto" functions wouldn't work for her. Remember the purpose of photography is to capture a great image, expressing your vision; don't be overwhelmed with all the bells and whistles of the bigger cameras.

Thanks for this erudite discussion. One factor not mentioned generally in creating DOF, is the use of color which is also a factor of atmosphere. Warms for the foreground and blue tones for background. Not related to a setting in camera, but none the less, important adjunct.

How close does Fuji film simulation in their cameras come to the real Kodachrome, or for that matter, Color Effex Pro??

I'm not familiar with this individual printer, but could it be a gap printer head issue??
