++++++++++++++++++++++++++++OK, I will try again this has nothing to do with firearm safty!!! He is an actor! lets think about this: If he had to portray a fight scene and slipped and broke the other actors' jaw, would he be arrested for assault???
think it thru..

just to beat on this a bit more: what was live ammunition doing on a movie set? Maybe we are back to square one and should be running a murder investagation.

Interesting point of view.

I could be talked out of it I guess, I just wanted to throw that on the table... realistically, those people are told what to do, say and maybe even think so it is really unfair to hold them to real world standards, no? and as far as blanks on a movie set, I am not sure but the guns are probably loaded with smoke making ammunition, (for effect) as real guns use "smokeless" powder so the actors probably expect the firearms to be loaded with ammunition (blanks) and w/o a bullet, therefore "clearing" a movie set weapon is meaningless....

I disagree with most of the answers ...These people are actors and dont exist in the real world

Not mentioned is that with your Canon 5 iv, you can take videos. If you can get in position, get a video of the boats rounding a mark and setting "Spins Acre". Whether they haul it up or unferl it by breaking rubber bands there is a short time (before the helm and guys on its sheets gets it under control) when wierd things can (& often do) happen. Super video opportunity.....Tacking with a main & geny is a disaplined orderly operation, not so (ever) with a spinnacker...

your 70-200 will be fine.. the com boat is normally located at one end of the finish line and unless it is over 30 feet it will be bouncing around a little (sailing takes wind).... you are taking photos of boats (not people on them) therefore a longer lens is not necessary. if you have any say at all, try and get them to locate the com boat so at the end of the finish line so that you are not photoing into the sun.. normally a canon is fired as the first boat crosses the finish line, a great way to tell you when to take the photo Often the start/finish line are the same..

the differance between what you have and what you are thinking about "up grading" to is really very slight. my (FREE) advise to you is: "do nothing" ,, we all do like to buy our equipment (and ourselves) new toys though ..Ed

Use Auto ISO and a shutter speed of 1/60 or faster. High ISO will give you some grain but at least you’ll have the photos. You can clean up some of the grain in PP.

yes, and it seems that the iso on modern digital cameras almost enables you to take photos in the dark, the days of super XX, tri-x & hi speed ektchrome (400) are behind us.

I found it. 'tis a Kodak SCANZA. Caution (again) I scanned about 30+slides without viewing the jpgs, and found a hair across all of 'em., so check that it is clean inside by scanning nothing and checkings its jpg. Aside from that, it did work quite well.

An SR-71 go-around would be something to see!

I cant find it , but there was a story about a sr71 :, asked to buzz the area, he stalled it at about 200 feet and just barely recovered.. wish I could find it though, he said the people who buzzed the area for were very impressed, had no idea how close he came to crashing... the (ret) pilot wrote it up..., was a two seater, the other pilot said that he should try to keep the pointy end forward...
