I'm humbled by those who've spoke graciously about this image.

Equipment used:

Canon M6 / Fotodiox EF to EF-M adapter / Canon 100mm f/2 USM (shot at f/4) / 1/320 sec. / ISO-100 / Cokin "P" Drop-in Filter Mount / Experimental "Fixed" Polarization Filter / Vintage 1970's Velbon Multi-Point Tripod

I'm really amazed at how the yellow leaves created a mass of color. In fact I prob should have slowed the shutter speed down one or two noticed more.

Just to reiterate, ZERO post processing was done to this image. Yet the matted/framed print looks darker because of the dry mounting process which heats up the print board and seals the print to the board. So I don't think it anything was lost while doing the dry mount, it actually looks a tad better and slightly darker.

Again thanks for the comments and support.

neither as the images are too dark and the subject isn't will identified. Remember, you know its a wilted dry flower, but those looking at the picture need to also know what it is. So you need to convey what the subject matter is. Otherwise it looks like a rotten egg.

The idea should have been getting above the homes and pinpointing more of the mountains in the background. The homes in the foreground are distracting.

Here's a neat trick I teach students. Sometimes you may see people putting there pointed fingers together creating a box or frame to view a shot, typically this is done for movies etc. But remove the top portion of this box and you're left with a pointing finger with the thumb extended upward. The smoking gun, is then used to judge where the sun should be while taking sunset photos without actually having the sun in the image.

In my "Endless Miles of Straight Line" I used my smoking gun trick to judge where the sun was then took the shot with the sun out of the picture at the top. In other words, hold your index finger level with the horizon the extended your thumb upward. The sun should be at or above your finger when taking these shots. But if one was to do this without bending their elbow, the sun would be too low on the horizon. So best bend your arm at the elbow and hold your hand approx 2 feet away from your face. This will give you the proper perceptive when taking these types of shots.

Take note of the shadows on the clouds. The sun was above the clouds and out of the frame. This technique can be used at sunset or sunrise. So give it a try on your next landscape photo

One thing I neglected to mention while taking this image. The Canon M6 does not have a viewfinder nor can I use a view finder anymore, I want to see the whole picture before I take the shot. In order to do this, I use the live view screen but still this screen is very small and one will have to use reading glasses to see the image. The reason I'm saying this is because If you have a live view touch screen, then one is able to force focus on the subject. In this case there wasn't a single subject but a group of subjects. the tree trunks was the main draw. Touching the screen will either give one a blue square or a green square. But one should drag or resize the square to suit the image. In other words, I touched the live view and was given a green square. then I resized the square and made it a rectangle which forced the camera/lens to focus on all the trees in the image. So don't always trust that your camera knows what you're looking at and force focus on subjects before you take the shot.

I agree with others about how the packing deck was built. and it is a distraction to the image I would crop it out.

I realize the issue could be totally random, but this is one reason I don't and wont us paypal. It's money orders or gift cards only for me. So I guess that leaves me out of the loop when I see something here I might want. But some of the prices you guys are charging.. I can get it better/cheaper elsewhere. You'll prob have to wait till you can actually speak with someone on paypal. try Twitter paypal account also for faster service.

Most will tell you to brace yourself on a tree sign post etc. Plus to make sure that your camera and lens has stabilization. But most of my equipment doesn't' So I have to brace myself any way possible. If this continues you may be looking at getting a gimble.

@Bruce Because of comments like yours and those at other sites, we've had this image printed, matted and framed for an upcoming exhibition as well as other photo competitions. I have to say it's one of my best images since the shadow forest image back in 2006.
