Just wondering if one of these has more appeal than the other?

#1 is the one I like best. Is this a cropped photo? Is it possible to get the rest of the rings in the top left? Just want to see if it makes a significant difference have the rings complete. As it is, the rings lead my eye out of the photo but I still think it's a strong photo. JUST MY OPINION!!!

I like the first image. In the second image, the leaf gets lost in the ripples and the leaf is desaturated further decreasing contrast between it and the ripples. Just another opinion.

The first.
The second is just way too busy for my eyes.

Thank you Dodie. I know exactly what you are saying but unfortunately it has not been cropped.

Thank you. It is becoming obvious now.

I like #1.
#2, while I like the tone and luminance of the reflections, it works against the subject, much like dappled sunlight in a foreground or background would distract from a portrait. If composed alone as an abstract, I could look at the reflections all day!

Both are well executed photographs, I think #1 is the better composition.

Another vote for #1. Greater detail and the eye is drawn to the subject, the leaf.

#1, but #2 is very good. I would not abandon it, but play with crops and effects. Two compelling photos.

I like the color of the first one. I wish the second leaf had more color so it might stand out a bit more.
Thank you!
