sorry but I disagree. I live near a wildlife preserve. I am there a few times a week with my camera.
I see a LOT more MIL cameras then I do DSLR cameras. The place I see more DSLR are the older retired people that have been shooting for years. Younger people that love their Iphone pix are moving up to MIL cameras.

I am one of those old people with my DSLR which I may sell and get a Nikon Z7II we will see. Ihavent tried one yet.

I' am77 and a Fujixt3 shoasootet untilm my stroke. Now use my 12 pro untillmy left hndcan supporsupport my real camera.
I sold all my Nikkn gear as I wanted good camera that was less bulky and less weight I will keep it until it doesn’t work even if the Fuji brand goes under. all of our current cameras will be obsolete sooner than laterAlways something new

A not uncommon thing for me is to see a nice shot while driving, but there is no safe and convenient place to pull off. I wished I was in a motorbike and could pull off onto whatever meager strip of shoulder the road might offer me. Has any tried photography from a bicycle, motorbike or Vespa motor-scooter?
years ago not smart but my buddy and I had a great7000mile ride in 17days this one was in Utah hand held Canon Elf

I went from Nikon to Fuji a few years back. No regrets at all.
The jpegs SOOC are amazing, I’m so not into sitting for hours editing.
Also panorama mode fabulous, no stitching them together myself it does it in camera.
I can shoot in 3 different modes at one time, ie: Vivid, Crome, Soft Astia.
Have fun deciding.

I did the same, sold my d500 went to Fuji xt3. Weight and bulh were my main reasons needed something compact and light but all functions, that I would tskeevery who am very happy with my choice

Next Tuesday at 3:00 pm all SLRs and DSLRs will stop working. Only mirrorless, M4/3 and rangefinders will continue to work. Sell all your equipment RIGHT NOW and buy something that will function after the deadline.
