Sorry, this is to Reenie, didn't hit quote reply. Thanks for the interest. It was something my wife and I did together and she passed away about a year and a half ago. Just doesn't have the same feel. I'll probably end up with some type of bridge camera, don't think I can go cold turkey.

Sorry for your loss. Good luck.

I have a Tamrac backpack that measures 12x9x6. It has a tab on the side that says 4281 which might be the model number. It has a main compartment with padded adjustable dividers, 2 zippered mesh pockets in the inside cover. I think you could fit the camera with lens attached and the smaller lens. There's an outside zippered pocket where you could store the Kindle Fire. Two mesh outside side pockets would hold a water bottle and such. I would pack the battery charger in my checked luggage.

My bigger backpack is a Tenba. It measures 16x12x6. It has 2 main zippered compartments. I put 1 body with lens attached in each of the compartments (2 ready-to-shoot cameras). There are inside compartments as well - one would fit your Kindle. The others can be used for storage cards/batteries. This one also has outer pockets for water bottles. There's also a bottom zippered pocket with a rain cover in it.

You are apparently STILL missing the point. But I don't have time to school you today, or any other day. I will try one more time and then I am done. Pay attention now. Teachers receive an annual salary of let's say, $60,000 per year. That does not change. How the teacher elects to receive that $60,000 per year is generally a choice of 12 installments or 9 installments, while the teacher is actually working. No difference in the amount of pay. What difference, at this point, does it make?

Bye now. Someone else can help you if you are still confused.

But it would if the school year changed. The union would demand it!

Apparently you are missing your own point, either that or you got caught up in your Liberal lack of common sense.

You pointed out, "You do realize that if they worked an entire year instead of 9 months they would earn more?"

Teachers are paid an annual salary which some can decide to be paid in in either 9 month or 12 month divisions. They would not get paid more by working 12 months at all. The annual salary is the same. Divide however you like but the annual salary remains the same. Perhaps you missed that important part of 4th grade math.

My math is fine, your common sense is lacking.......I'm suggesting that if we had year round schools, teachers would be paid accordingly. They would earn about 1/3 more than they currently earn. Teachers unions would see to that. No one expects anyone to get paid for 12 months of work and receive 9 months pay just like no one should expect 12 months pay for 9 months of work! If teachers want "real" pay for the whole year then I expect them to actually work the entire year! If that means they get a temporary summer job then so be it.

Both my parents were teachers and one wife. Your argument has been ongoing since the beginning of time. But have you ever considered that many teachers get a choice of how their salary will be paid. They can stipulate that it be 12 monthly amounts or have that salary paid during the teaching months or 9 months. You people whine and bitch but the salary amount is still the same amount. You seem to equate it as having a pizza baker cut the pie into 12 slices rather than 9 because you will end up with more pizza.

Is it possible you are really that ignorant?

I'm not suggesting they divide their 9 months of work into 12 , I'm suggesting they actually work 12 months!

My daughters are teachers. You really don't think their school day ends when the bell rings, do you? There are lesson plans to do as well as papers to grade.

Most other professions aren't 9-5 either. There's meetings to prepare, meetings to attend, extra training, emails to read, etc. Plus they work about 50 weeks a year. I respect teachers and they can complain about not being able to discipline the students and I will support them but they chose to be teachers and shouldn't whine about pay or hours.

And let's not forget to mention the poor teachers who have to work a second job there because teaching doesn't pay any better than fast food.
