You have gotten some good advice, but if you would like to see a rather generic chart that evaluates on the average what you need for good pictures, take a look at www.picture-this.com/resources/fileSize.php

I have the D500 aps-c and the Z7 mirrorless. The Z7 is definitely lighter and will shoot full and APS-C. The comment about lenses is absolutely the case. I just got the Z 70-200 f/2.8 and is is only a small amount lighter and more compact. The big advantage of the Z7 is the 45 megapixels which allows some serious cropping while maintaining quality. For pure weight I have two friends who have gone with the Olympus system. Much improved weight and size but lots of money to get a full system and the adjustment not only to 4:3 but to a crop factor of 2 where APS-C is only 1.5. Canon's announcement of the R5 and its lenses look attractive both performance and pricewise, but again a new learning curve. Good luck!

I agree with the comments already given. I use the FTZ with the Z7 with no problems, even with the 60mm Macro. I do have one of the older 80-400 Nikon lenses, and as someone generalized, the autofocus does not work with them but the other features do fine; you simply have to manually focus--picture quality is also fine, but as noted the Z lenses are generally superior to the others. Using the FTZ, you do pick back up a little of the weight and bulk that you are saving with the Z. I use the Z more than my D500 even with loss of telephoto derived from the cropping with the D500 APS-C format. The Z will shoot either format as you probably know. One other advantage you get with the 70-200 is it works with the 2x teleconverter which most zooms of current genre do not because of the autofocus.

I have the 3200U, and I have been very happy with it. Excellent monito for the money. You will have to pay more than double to get a professional photo quality monitor, but this serves my needs quite nicely.

I second what CO wrote of getting later version. I have early one, and it does have limitations.

I purchased a 3200U about 8 months ago and have been very happy with it. I purchased from B&H. They put me in touch with their principal monitor sales person at the time. I told him I wanted as high a quality as I could get but wanted to spend less than $750-1000. He quickly told me you, in general, had to go much higher in price to get true pro quality but he thought BenQ made the best quality monitor of those available under $800. I read a lot of reviews on everything I purchase, and there is a trend. Practically everything has somewhere between 3-7% who rate it a 1 or 2, given a statistically significant number of reviews. If it gets above 10%, then I start to get concerned to the point of doing something else unless some other factors mitigate doing it anyway. Everyone has to find their own reference point. Good luck!

I have used a d500 SINCE SHORTLY AFTER ITS RELEASE AND FREQUENTLY TAKE BOTH THE sd AND xqd CARDS IN AND OUT, NEVER WITH ANY PROBLEM. NIKON HAS A 48HR SUPPORT LINE ON ITS WEB SITE. I WOULD SHOOT A NOTE TO THEM AND SEE IF THEY HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS, INCLUDING THE SERVICE ISSUE.

I, too, live in Naples. I frequently order from B&H and Hunt's, having no problems. However, Collier County has a huge photo club DPI-Sig (https://dpi-sig.org/ ). Sonny Saunders leads it and does a superb job. You might want to contact them.

I added the Z7 and like it for lots of things, but do not want to get rid of my D500 either. The Z7 has an incredible pixel count which will serve well in many situations especially where you may have a large crop. The FTZ lens adapter works well although it does not autofocus on some older Nikkor lenses even though the other auto features work well. On the newer lenses it all works. You are, of course, then adding back a bit of the weight and bulk you have gained with the Z7. They have just released for late August teleconverters which will work with their 70-200 zoom all the way to f/11. I have two friends who switched to Sony. One used it a bit and bought Nikon back after selling his previous Nikon gear. The other sold his Canon top of the line gear and bought Sony, and he is very happy with it. I guess this is one of those issues where beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

I have a D500 and have both a Sigma 105MM Macro and the Nikkor 60MM Micro. Both are very satisfactory. Be sure to take into account the crop factor on the D500 because if you buy one of the 180 Macros you will actually be getting the effect of a 270MM. Just depends on how far away you want to be. if it is an indoor environement I would lean to the 60, outdoors the 105.

I had a 7200 and now have a D500. I bought several of the off brand from B&H which I think is totally reliable and they proved to be probably less than half the life and charge retention of the EL-15 series from Nikon. Nikon still will use the EL-15 in newer cameras like the Z7 but must be charged on the external charger whereas the OEM later EL-15 with the Z7 can be charged in the camera with
a cable.

I don't know what you mean by "WiFi SD card." The D800 did not have BlueTooth or WiFi connectivity, but the D850 does. However, the files that are transmitted by the D850 are compressed JPEGs. Take the SD card out of the camera, insert it into the appropriate slot on your computer (or use a separate, USB card reader) and transfer all your files - full sized, RAW (NEF) or JPG - directly to your computer. Or you can connect your camera with the included USB 3 cable. I think the WiFi features on new cameras are vastly overrated.

A number of years ago a SD Card called Eye-Fi was sold. I got one,but it had quite a few bugs. Finally the company sent out a notice and indicated that they would no longer support it. I agree with the comments of using a USB cable or a card reader. Note if your computer uses a USB 3 port, using it will be faster than the USB 2 port which many computers still have.

I have a 7200 and the D500. Both are excellent cameras. have had the 7200 a couple of years with no problems as was the case with the 7100 I had before that. Not all Amazon reviews are on the oney as some buyers get off ontangents or think the price too high for what they perceive they received.

I, too , have been to Amsterdam in the spring a number of times. First, I would suggest late April or early May to on the average get the maximum number of blooms. I would lean also toward the Canon with the 24-105 but would also take the wide angle for getting the vast blooming fields outside Amsterdam. I would not walk through the Red Light district but it is easy to get a taxi and have him stop here and there to photo the "window dressing".

The 150-600 is a very heavy lens. Of course, you will be in a safari vehicle most of the time.. I have been several times and have found something like the Tamron 16-300 with APS-C format handy for good game pictures from the Safari vehicle. The one time I used the 150-600 I found it unwieldy. I do have the Nikon 80-400 and enjoy it , again with APS-C format. good luck!
