Oriental is what you call a rug. Asian is what you call a person.

Itā€™s my understanding that using ā€œOrientalā€ to refer to people is outdated. ā€œOrientalā€ is used to refer to objects and ā€œAsianā€ is the preferred term for people.

A friend of mine wears glasses for distance but not for reading. Sheā€™s having cataracts removed and will now need the glasses for reading but not for distance.

The men and women (of the military), have always been my heroes.
Just the thought of climbing into the front seat or belly of a bomber or fighter jet,
would make me want to reconsider, [my own sanity], for wanting to go up against
an enemy force.

The brotherhood of the men that fly in to battle, does not change the greatness of
any of our military forces.

Pray for those that have the courage to go into battle for our Nation.

I have a hard time watching the series. Iā€™m one of the lucky vets whose war time experience was uneventful but it wasnā€™t so lucky for my older relatives in WWII and Korea, my peers in Vietnam or those currently in harms way. For me, and for many others, watching ā€œMastersā€¦ā€ invokes a ā€œbut for the grace of Godā€ feeling. As accurate as ā€œMastersā€¦ā€ and its predecessors attempt to be, itā€™s impossible to replicate what these men and women experienced during their service and, for many, the rest of their lives.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Iā€™m sorry you lost your soul mate. My wife and I are approaching 57 years together and I spend a lot of time reviewing our life together and trying to make whatever time we have left together as good as it cam be.

For sure. My parents were not around for very long. Yes, we did have a nice selection of photo albums in the attic.

Thanks,
Mark

I knew my rounded numbers would be off. The 2430 games for the 2024 season are spread over 186 days so that works out to 91 games per week on average not counting rain outs, double headers etc.

I get approx 112 games per week

15 games per day
180 days per season
24 weeks per season

15*180/24

15*180=2700 total games
2700/24=112.5 games per week

That's exactly right. Members of the jury are supposed to only base their decisions on what they heard and learned while in the courtroom during the course of the trial. Everything else is to be left at the door. For people who work in law enforcement and the legal profession, this can be very difficult for them.

It can be difficult for others as well. My wife is a second grade teacher and was selected for a jury pool in a child molestation case. She told the judge she didnā€™t think she could present an un-biased opinion and was excused.
