My wife and I just returned from an Alaskan Cruise and I'm working on the 1000 photo's. I'm trying to merge two picture into one with my wife on one side of the sign and me on the other.

I've been reading the Corell Paintshop Pro PDF manual and reviewing the video's but am having a problem with the merging of the pictures. I get one picture on top of the other with the lettering on the sign all messed up. I'm not able to move one layer to line up the lettering on the sign.It must be me, since I find the instructions very confusing.

My question, Is there a UHH member that could give me a step by step instructions on doing this and would they recommend a good book?

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

I don't think they have produced a book since Paint Shop Pro version9, and there were 3 books produced at this version.

Just curious.

Is grandpa open to the idea of having more connection time by taking grandson out fishing again, trying a change of bait if necessary?
--- or going to a larger pond to cast a hook if that catch was the largest to be expected from that pond?

IF they should happen to haul in and land a larger catch, grandpa and grandson may eventually both be grateful for
-- more real life time together,
-- more interesting fishing time together
-- an actual experience of bringing in the catch, with a real photo of a real fish whose size is satisfactory -- possibly leading to a double consequence of an increased interest both in fishing and photography.

Not trying to be nasty nor sarcastic. Just curious.
I have no experience to lean on for answers in how the grandpa / grandchild connections function:
--- never spent even one second with either grandpa; never saw either one except a couple old grainy photos that I was told were of them.
--- never heard much about the grandpas, either -- the one, basically good things were said about him -- the other one, nothing good was said about him.

I have no grandchildren, so I know nothing about the grandparent / grandchild connection from that side, either.
Purely as an outsider, who probably has nothing valuable to add, I can't help but wonder if those grandparents and grandchildren who do have connections truly appreciate what they have and strive to make good use of the time they can be together.
Some of us will never get any closer to that connection than to exist in wonder of what it was like to live in functional families that cared and looked out for one another.

Thanks Dustie for looking at this post. My very best friend (grandpa) has started to take Andrew fishing at a farmers pond 6 times this summer. It is purely a catch and release since neither family eats fish, just a bonding time together. Andrew was asked to get the net and scoop in the fish for the first time. The usually get Crappies or Sun fish, this was different for him.
Grandpa knows I have PP software but I have never tried to enlarge an object in a picture thus the interest in helping him with his request.
Again thanks for reading.

To all the HHH members, this is going to sound too familiar. I have a good friend, who is taking his grandson to a fishing pond to teach him the finer art of landing a fish. It happened last weekend, now my friend asked me to enlarge the fish he got. Like three times larger. While I have PSP2022, Affinity, and Elements 22 all the books I have does not have an example enlarging an object in a pic. I know someone out there could do this in several clicks. Would that be one of you?? But to make this a teaching moment, would you also explain the process to me so that I can do such an act in the future. I have all three kinds of books but NOTHING jumps out to me as a method to do this. My thinking is to create layers, mask around the fish, move it to the new layer. How do I enlarge the fish three times it's size and move it around to cover the white hole that the fish left. Then collapse the layers. Am I close?? The pic is from an Iphone as a jpeg.

I am still looking to learn how this is done. Now the question as to how not pixelate the enlargement. I do not have AI or gigapixel. Hope to hear from someone. Thanks

Training a child to be one who falsely blows things out of proportion? At the very least handle it as a joke.

The only joke as you state is that a grandpa wanted to exaggerate the size of the fish.Post processing of a pic is done all the time. Adding clouds, adding two pictures together to make one, changing eye color, the list goes on. How about getting a young kid interested in photography. Don't make it into a constitutional issue.

So the rubber has stretched from use. Part of it is now loose. This occasionally happens to my well used zoom lenses.
You do not shrink rubber on a camera lens.
Simple fix once you get past the tremors. Carefully cut out one raised bar. If the rubber does not lay flat against the lens cut out more until it does. Make sure that everything is clean and glue the rubber back to the lens.
I put two heavy duty rubber bands around the repair, did not use the lens for two days, and left the rubber bands on a few more days until they annoyed me.

I used a Xacto knife to trim the rubber. I did scratch the lens barrel a little under the cut.
I used rubber cement applied to both surfaces to cement the rubber down.
I am using these lenses years later and nothing has come loose.
I do NOT leave cameras or lens sit out in the sun.
There are probably other glues available in a hobby store that will work.

This sounds like a good process. I would scratch the barrel with sandpaper and use BARGE cement to attach the rubber back on. BARGE is a contact cement that requires putting the cement on the barrel and the rubber. Allow it to dry and place a second coat on each. Allow it to dry/tacky and place together. It is a ONE time placement and permanent.

All insurance, even riders are expensive. Typically a home owner's policy will only cover about 1500 for photo equipment in case of fire, flood, or theft. The thing to remember is this -- you may have 20,000.00 in equipment but you will not have all your equipment with you at one time. Think of the most you would have out with you at one time and buy insurance for that amount, not your whole inventory.

I don't think that is how the rider insurance works. You don't pick an amount you want to pay or insure. You have to list the ca.mera's, lenses, extras all with serial numbers and receipts for your stuff

Remember that IF you have a claim on your home owners insurance you open up the homes policy for an increase to the yearly policy cost vs. an add on policy for just the cameras and lenses.

Turn on Siri on your phone. With Siri active, point your phone's camera at a subject of your choice and say "Hey Siri, say cheese" and the photo will be taken. Focus on holding the phone and let your voice do the photo.

Can anyone help with this problem? I have a card on which I recorded images in jpg over a span of ~ a year, all of which display perfectly fine on the (Nikon) camera’s Display, but none of which are any longer recognizable by any of my PC’s utilities – They are not even downloadable. I had previously downloaded most of them but not all. The card reader is not at fault because it does read other cards normally. The images are not corrupted because they still display perfectly on the camera.

During the time when the something went wrong, it happened I was trying to up load images from the card to a smart phone. The file manager recognized the images, but seems to have written its own files on the card as if trying to impose a file structure on it – data flowing backwards. I never was able to get the file manager to transfer any of the images to anywhere in the phone.

So, does anyone know of a way to recover the images? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I had the same issue of having LOTS of photos on a disk and the back up was corrupted as well. I have used RECUVA before back years ago to retrieve photos and it worked well. I use the free version. I put the disk in the computers disk reader and ran the program. I had not over written the disk so it recovered 1986 photos in little over 25 minutes. It was over a years worth of photos. I have NO idea what happened to the disk but Recuva did same my buns. I hope it will help you out. I reformatted the disks and started to use them again. My D7200 uses two disks, one for the orig and one for back up.

I bought mine used from KEH three years ago. It stays on my D7200 all day every day. My only complaint at this time is the barrel creep when pointing it down. As I understand this is mostly normal, some would suggest a rubber wrist band from an organization like Alzheimers. Not sure what it costs to repair and if is lasts if repaired.

My question too.

I do NOT know, have never gone back to fix or finish a removal. Where does one go to find missing or left over driver files?? I like most users, have not gone into Regedit under fear of messing up something as most warn to never do.

Do you have to use Revo right from the start, or can it remove stuff that is left over after Windows removes a program?

I use Revo from the start. I also have CC Cleaner and it removes left over files when I shut down my browser. I know that CC Cleaner can remove programs but it is NOT my first thought.
