I owned a D80 and upgraded as soon as the D90 came out. I married it to the Nikon 18-200 VR zoom and have had great success with both, shooting everything from model sessions, automotive, architectural to landscapes. I sell my photos online and at art shows through the year. Great 12 megapixel DX camera; solid construction.

Anyone else having problems? How about just about everyone with a PC!
Luminar 3 is an Unmitigated disaster. Just getting to the light gray splash screen takes 4-8 minutes, then you get to stare at the screen for hours when you try to load photos into the library. Even then entire folders are missed showing up grayed our with zero photos contained therein, despite the fact every folder ignored contained many photos. Trying to work on a photo caused the program to crash and burn. Thank goodness I have other post processing programs, including Luminar 2018 which work!

It seems that MAC users are not having the MAJOR problems PC users are having.

I downloaded Luminar 3 and like MANY PC users have found the program virtually unusable...such a major disappointment for Windows users. Takes hours to upload photos, sometimes up to 20 minutes just to start the program and you stare at the gray splash screen, then freezes, folders not loaded but simply grayed out showing "0" photos within, even though there are many photos in each one. What a major mess.

I went from the venerable Nikon D90 to the D7500 after a lot of research. I have had the camera a year and it has proven to be an excellent choice. I compared photos taken at an air show and the D7500 photos were significantly better. I mostly shoot landscape, trains, cars, old architecture and an occasional model shoot. The D7500 offers so much I ended up buying a third party book to learn all the camera has to offer.

David Busch book is excellent. I went from a Nikon D90 to the D7500. Lots of similarities but also lots of differences...enough that I wanted take advantage of all the camera offered. Easy to read, good linear flow of information. I don't think you can go wrong...sure, there are cheaper books, but do you really want to save a few bucks on another book when you just spent a lot of greenbacks for the camera?

I highly recommend David Busch's book...easy to read, extremely informative...really explains everything and helps tremendously with getting the most out of the D7500!

I use Elements as my main editing program; plug ins are On1, Topaz Adjust and the Nik suite. Used Photoshop for years but discovered Elements had everything I needed.

If you have the Nikon Message Center on your computer you will also get a notification. I also received An email for a D7500 firmware update.

Uneven horizons and people who think they are a wedding photographer simply because they now have an expensive DSLR. I see their postings with poor lighting. Poles coming out of the brides head, very distracting backgrounds, etc.

I read that is only compatible with Photoshop Elements 17/18. I have 14 and Nik and a few other plug ins. Even if it were compatible with 14 I would not upgrade. The old “ don’t fix what isn’t broken”.

Yes absolutely. I noticed discrepancies between the monitor and the finished print years ago. Got the Spyder Pro 5 and now the correlation is much closer. Can never be exact as the light hitting the print will vary quite.
