Poor man's Malayan Horned Frog - Perak Spadefoot Frog / Perak Horned Toad (Xenophrys aceras). He/she doesn't look too happy to see me. Highlands of Pahang, Peninsular Malaysia. We also meet the other poor man's horned frog, i.e Xenophrys longipes.

Wonderful critter you come across while looking for snakes! Adult female Orchid Mantis (Hymenopus coronatus). Definitely one of the most well known and most beautiful species in the world. Peninsular Malaysia.

Terry - i always start by taking photos of any venomous snakes from safe distance, and only get closer, and closer if they look calm and chill. I was really close because I use the Laowa 15mm. But if you are not comfortable getting too close, you can use a 90mm/100mm/105mm macro lens.

Red-headed Krait (Bungarus flaviceps baluensis) from the Sabah, Borneo. Highly venomous, but extremely shy. Didn't even make any attempt to bite!

Always happy to see a Kuhl's Flying Gecko (Ptychozoon kuhli) in the wild. They are the kuhl-est and the best looking geckos in Malaysia IMO. Lowland forest of Peninsular Malaysia.
