Yes to JD750!
I received my Z6 and am blown away by the body and 24-70 f4. Customization and feel are wonderful, coming from a D1x, D2x, D2H, D2Hs, D700 and D750. Low light and video quality astound and I don't need more than 24+ megapixels for file size.
My only problem is that my 105 Micro 2.8 mounted via the FTZ adapter doesn't want to operate in autofocus mode. My other autofocus lenses work fine and the Micro works as expected on the other bodies.
I've reached out to Nikon and am awaiting a reply.

Gorgeous Cat's Eyes photo! FWIW, I ordered my Z6 with 24-70 f4 and FTZ adapter so I can use ALL of my Nikkor lenses! I also had to buy an XQD card and reader, insofar as the Z-series cameras have only one XQD card slot. But, having grown with Nikon since 1976, I'm in too deep and too happy with quality and features to look elsewhere.
I photograph people, portraits, events and documentary film, so with its built-in stabilization for my old hands are top-of-list needs for me. And, the "what you see is what you get" viewfinder and touch interface are added benefits.
I look forward to sharing . . .

My best advice: "Once you go Mac, you'll never go back." Any iMac with max memory and SSD storage, but if you can afford it, the iMac Pro is simply as good as it gets. All the 27" models feature 5K integrated display and you specify which graphics card you prefer.
As with any choice you make, Mac or PC and your desire to configure or buy off-the-shelf, you'll get what you pay for and live with the outcome for years to come. All Mac OS and software updates are fully tested and vetted and FREE! And with AppleCare+, you get three years of worry-free use and 24/7 toll-free technical support. And, whatever software you're accustomed to use for image editing is, most likely, optimized for the Mac and will give you a better, more stable and reliable experience. Blame that on the UNIX OS, which is what's under the hood of the Mac.

I've been using a D750 since it came out, frustrated at its interface/controls following my growth from the D1x through the D700. That said (written) the image quality is, indeed, outstanding. My lens collection ranges from 17-35 f2.8, 28-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8vr, 50 f1.8G, 105 f2.8 and f28-300 3.5-5.6.
But, still I hunger for better and lighter and faster. So, as a video shooter and photographer, the Z6 with 24-70 f4 and FTZ adapter are my next steps. I handled one at an NPS intro event and was very impressed with what it felt like and what the silent mode-delivered images looked like. I read the camerasreviewed.com piece and look forward to getting my own for portraits, landscapes, street photography and fine art. Of course, I will also need an xqd memory card and reader for the new format. But speed/performance specs look like they're worth it and then I'll want a newer, faster Mac to process and edit and a complete ink refill for my Epson 3800 printer.
This is what the "domino effect" really looks like.

What a pain! I'm told that the vast majority of cataract surgeries are successful. However, every attempt to alter the body carries risks. I don't want this thread to turn into an "Organ Recital," so I'll refrain from citing all the surgeries I'm still trying to recover from. I approach this with both apprehension and hope and the reason for reaching out is to learn which fixed-lens correction is best for most photographers and photo/video editors. Thanks for all who are sharing.

Thanks for your observation, PC39. However, the refracted light from every bright light, headlight and taillight is having a dramatic effect on my ability to see. The cataracts cloud the lens and diffuse all light to make moderate light soft and harder light almost blinding! And, no amount of wearable correction will permit me to see images on my camera or on my Mac in focus anymore. Very frustrating following a lifetime of great vision and creative work as a photographer and filmmaker. So, no choice if I'm going to keep creating.

This is great! Please, keep em' coming. Your experiences and insights are helping.
I'm still struggling with the choice.
I'm hoping to replace/augment my Nikon DSLRs with a Z7 and using both the rear display and viewfinder, preferably without glasses. And, I spend a great deal of time on computers as an editor (photo and video) and as trainer at the Apple Store. So, getting it right for the balance of my life . . .

I'm scheduling cataract surgery and was told that I must opt for which correction I want to wear eyeglasses; I've been using trifocals for the past 15-years.
My initial thought that having my eyes corrected for permanent (whatever that means) distance vision and then get eyeglasses for close focusing seemed right.
But, needing to be able to see what's going on with my camera controls, chimping and focus, leads me to think that perhaps getting surgery to require distance glasses may make more sense.
Seeing the profiles of many participants here, it occurs to me that there are likely many who have opinions worth sharing.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Apple does a great job of keeping camera file formats up-to-date in latest MacOS updates with assistance from each camera manufacturer. I recommend keeping your Operating System up-to-date to the highest version your hardware will support. It's easy and free, but always do a TimeMachine backup before starting the backup in the unlikely (but possible) event that something unfortunate goes wrong during the upgrade. You'll also want to be sure which applications are 32-bit and will no longer be fully supported by the newest OS which now wants only 64-bit software. Many/most will still work, but some won't, so, as one advertiser notes, "know before you go." And, you could be pleasantly surprised at how incredibly robust the latest version of Photos has become with many of the editing capabilities of LightRoom.
OR, you can switch to what is becoming one my favorite image editing applications, On1.

I ALWAYS perform a TimeMachine backup before updating in the unlikely event something goes wrong or stops working. Such was the case twice in the past 8-years of beta testing MacOS updates. Fortunately, restoring from the most recent backup got me back to work and my reports helped assure that by the time the update was golden, it would work. Of course, your mileage may vary, but keeping a current TimeMachine backup is your best insurance against all software (and hardware) casualties that may occur to your Mac.

In 2016, our leaders held a Constitutional Convention to adopt a constitution for the new state in preparation for admission to the Union. The name adopted for the 51st state is Washington, Douglass Commonwealth - intended to keep our popularly-known name, but paying homage to Frederick Douglass.

As a D.C. resident and no fan of football (way too dangerous), this is funny! However, and on a needlessly serious note for this site, the story belies the fact that 700,000 people (400,000 of whom are registered to vote) live in the District of Columbia without the full benefits of citizenship - voting representation in the US Congress and Senate. Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution created the federal city "under exclusive control of Congress in all matters whatsoever." We pay federal income taxes, "state" income taxes, property taxes and sales taxes, but have no final say in how those tax revenues are spent in our own city, for our own residents, and our locally-legislated programs and laws. Our City Council creates a budget and a plan to spend our tax dollars, but must get approval from Congress to move the budget forward to implementation. And any member of Congress from any jurisdiction can step in and, without objection from us, add a rider to our budget bill to thwart those expenditures. No other jurisdiction in the USA has such control exercised over its local governance. And, while we object to the actions of those outside legislators, we cannot vote against them, unelect them or otherwise challenge the legitimacy of their actions to thwart the will of the residents of the District. The original Tea Party (remember Boston Harbor?) was a challenge to "taxation without representation," the words that adorn most DC license plates. Voting is what makes a democracy work. We are all challenged to study the issues and listen to the candidates and then decide and "vote our conscience" on election day. But 700,000 DC residents have been permanently disenfranchised and forced to accept the consequences of votes cast by residents of the 50 States. Please act wisely. Our shared destiny depends on it!
