Looks interesting - anyone downloaded yet? - or is it better to wait in case any initial problems.

I downloaded it a few days ago, and really see little or no difference. The light and dark options to me are nothing special..Just kept it light, although My husband likes dark. If you use their desktop screen shot, which I don't, the shadow will move across the dune..Big Woo!

Next year's Os will be a big one, as no 32 bit architecture app will be able to work

I upgraded yesterday, and like Jeannie says no big deal it looks a little different but not in any positive ways.

I usually wait a few weeks to a month before upgrading the OS. I didn't do that with High Sierra and wound up having issues, especially with the mail app that got sorted out a few weeks after the release.

Jeannie, thanks for the info on the 64 bit architecture won't be in effect with Mojave as I had assumed.

I had thought it would be this year as well, But apparently not. I did some research and found that to be true, So Just hope that my Spyder app, and my Olympus updater will have a 64 bit option in time for the new OS. Spyder has assured me it will

The big deal with Mojave is it is the next to last stage in Apple's transition from 32 bit to strictly 64 bit support operation. When you bring up a 32 bit app for the first time you get a warning that the app won't run on future versions and a button when clicked takes you to an Apple web page explaining their intent to cease all support in future versions so you should contact the app's developer to find out what if any plans they have to convert to 64 bits.

For many UHHers one potential problem is that an Adobe app start helper program is 32 bit so I fear my current version of Lightroom CC won't run in the future even if Lightroom itself is 64 bit. Has anyone confirmed with Adobe their plans to convert to completely 64 bits?

When I did a survey of all my apps to see what was what, I noticed that all the old Adobe apps, such as CS6 etc were 32 bit, so I will have to take them off my machine, something I have been planning on doing for a few years, Just never got around to it..and to think that once upon a time, Photoshop was opened from the minute I got up till I shut down for the Night(Had a Pc in those days). I have not used LR of PS in Years. I did take LR off the machine about 2 years ago, But never got around to PS, or Bridge etc

Hi Jeannie - I had the same impression re improvements - nowadays they seem to add a lot of features that do not appeal to me - I was interested in the security improvements re Safari although I currently use Firefox. Not much interested in the dark screen feature - can always wear my sunglasses if I think it is too bright lol!

As long as it does no damage I might install just to keep up with the Jones's.

I tend to upgrade just because if there would be a major one, It is easier to have it work than If you had to do a bunch..or so I think. BUT, I always let my husband do it first on his machine

I upgraded both my 2017 MacBook Pro and my 2012 MacBook Air, which I had not upgraded to High Sierra. I find they both work nicely under Mojave. A couple of my utility programs had to be tweaked a bit, but everything is working nominally. No great big "A-ha" moments, but the Preview program, which seems to be overlooked most often, has some nice new editing enhancements to it. And the "Quick Look" feature (spacebar when a file is highlighted) now has editing tools built in, so the companion program may not even need to be launched!

I keep a clean desktop, so Stacks does nothing for me. Light and Dark mode are "candy" (and I've been using a variant of dark mode before Mojave). I think the real improvements come under the covers, so to speak, in security and privacy protection, among others.

I usually wait a few months until a few additional updates have been issued.

I updated a few weeks ago, and have found no problems. I like some of the new features.
