Great old glass images from your D610. Images work. Very nice.

Thank you, the lens came attached to the N8008 that I inherited from my father. He traded his F2 in for it.

Today I experimented using a 1980's era AF Nikkor 35-105mm lens on my D610 using the lens's Macro feature. I think that lens compatibility is the major reason that I stayed with Nikon when I went digital ten years ago. What do you think, did these shots turn out good?

The place where I bought my tires rotates my tires for free every 4000 miles and they were cheaper than Costco. If you check out a locally owned shop that has been in business for a long time like I did, you may be able to find a deal like I did.

I am thinking about buying this lens and would like some feedback from the group. It is listed in good condition.

I currently have the 18-140 and 18-300 plus a 35 1.8 lens.

Would I see any improvement in IQ, especially in family settings during holiday and other events inside and out. It is my understanding that it is an fix lens and should improve my IQ.

And what is a good price for this lens

Thanks for any advice you can give on this lens.

I have owned that lens for nearly five years and wouldn’t trade it for any other from any manufacturer. It is a superb piece of glass that has never failed me.

Yes she does, but they are very well done and don’t look out of place on her.

When women get to be 60+ such photos are great to display... saying wow, I was a real looker. At my age i can remember the ladies who are now old.... aaaa ya, me too... we guys get old and have a few pounds around the middle and a few sculpture lines in the face.

I agree, but I also love to photograph older women. I believe beauty has no age limit, and am currently looking for ladies in their 60’s to photograph. If you know any mature beauties who would be interested, please have them contact me.

I was fortunate enough to work with the beautiful Charlie Kristine again last week at a historic Mansion on the bluffs above Peoria. I hope you like these.

I purchased the Nikkor version of that lens five years ago from a fellow hogger when I bought my D610 from Cameta. It is a superb lens and I take 80% of my photos with it.

This D90 needs service.Given to me by friend.

I'm reaching out to all UHH "Gurus" for help.

Best service center in US for Nikon cameras ??!!

Thanks in advance for yr good and trusted help!!

I don’t know where you live, but Nikon has factory authorized service centers in California and New Jersey. If you live in “fly-over country” like I do, I recommend Authorized Photo Service, 8125 N River Drive, Morton Grove, IL 60963, 800-406-2046. They were the original Nikon authorized service center for many years and I have used them both before and after they were sponsored by Nikon. Their prices are reasonable and they do excellent work.

God bless!!

I recently received an e-mail from a potential client. The gentleman said he had seen my work on Model Mayhem and was impressed with my work. He told me that he had had nude photos of his wife done ten years ago and wanted to have me do an 'update'. He said he wanted the photos to be less 'vanilla' this time, and asked if he could join in on the 'action' near the end of the shoot. I told him I had no problem with his 'participation' and agreed to meet with him in person next week.

My question is how much should I charge for a session like this. I was thinking that $100 for the the studio time (my cost to rent), $200 for my time, $20 for the JPG images with my watermark on a memory stick, and $10/each for 8" x 10" prints if they want them. I am interested in any input you members of the Hogg may be able to give me.

Thank you in advance,
John Mangis

I upgraded from my D80 to my D610 in August 2014 and bought an AF 24-70 f2.8 from a fellow hogger. I have tried other cameras over the years, but have not found one that works better for me that were worth the extra cost. I had Authorized Photo Service in Chicago give it a ‘tune-up’ last summer and it works like new. I do not see any need to upgrade because Nikon still makes the D610 and it is a great camera.

I am having to upgrade but can't afford the top of the line equipment like D4s, D5 or D850. I shoot weddings, outdoor portraits, landscape and wildlife, sporting events, street and residential home sales and family vacation. I do shoot alot in low light and have a few flashguns and reflectors. I was thinking of going to the D810 or D750 used or refurbed and also toy'ed with the idea of the D500. I can only afford one and all the reviews on the web sites that sell I don't value much the reviews as most seem fake or embellished. I have been shooting digital for 11 years. Prior to that I shot 35mm film. Love the D90 but want to take it to the next level. Also what is the max print size for any of the above camera formats (FX or DX)?

About five years ago, I upgraded from my D80 to a D610. It was the least expensive full frame Nikon, and has served me well. It does everything I ask of it and still produces amazing images. What surprises me the most is that Nikon is still selling this under appreciated full frame model and hasn’t replaced it with a newer model. Perhaps you should consider the D610.
