Yup. Just tried it with Teams and Webex. No Joy.
SW is crap. and so is Nikon support. Just deleted it to make room for some better SW. Any suggestions?

I installed the app on both my desktop and laptop (both HP running W10 porfessional). Tried it through ZOOM and it would not work with my D7200 on either computer. I see the Webcam software logo on ZOOM but nothing more.
Nikon instructions don't exist. Just glad the SW was free since for me, it is worthless

Moved down from NJ (Bergen Cty) to Delaware last year and miss the fall colors. Thanks for sharing

Please DO NOT buy from Abe's of Maine. They are notorious for bait and switch and charging extra. Plus they have switched used for new and their customer service is horrible. I once visited their store on RT 22 in NJ and walked out after 5 min talking to one of their salesmen.
As others have said, buying from B&H, Adorama or a reputable local store is the best. You get service, a valid Nikon warranty and piece of mind.

Hi- I'm looking at adding a DSLR monitor for my D7200. I have limited vision (no fun getting old) so I've been told using an external monitor should be a useful addition.

The reviews I've seen is that the FreeWorld is one of the better low-cost units but, of course, open to other models. I looked at the F6 since it has some nice features and a decent screen size. As this is more of a test run than anything, I do want to keep the cost down as will probably look to upgrade if this works. Shooting more and more video and use a mono and/or tripod for stability and weight.

Thanks - Jeff G

Hi all - looking for some advice / suggestions. I am considering getting a DSLR monitor (5 - 7") for use on my D7200. I am shooting more and more video and the screen on my camera is just not doing the job even with a hood. I should point out that I've lost vision in my right eye so a larger screen and a decent hood should be a big help.
If you have used one, could you please share you experience and if the investment is worth it. I should also note that I like to use a mono or tripod when taking videos and telephoto photos so weight and stability are not really an issue,
Thanks!

Thanks. Wondering if you have any studio equipment? Lights, backdrops, etc?

Hi Myne, When do you plan to post the cameras? I'm right down the road from you in Middletown so could arrange to see the equipment if there is something I could use. Same goes for other equipment.
Thanks- Jeff G

I went from a D5000 to a D7000 and made the move to a D7200. The features and improved quality I feel were worth the upgrade and no regrets. I've stopped at the D7200 since it more than meets my needs and is a solid, rugged camera.

Thanks to all for the advice. All I'm trying to do is to use this for ZOOM conference calls so nothing too sophisticated is needed nor too expensive. I checked and Nikon is going to bring out a utility much ilke Canon's but so far all they have is a mailing list. Also saw come HDMI capture adapters on eBay that should also do the trick.
Have to decide soon so I can get up and running.
Thanks!

If anyone has tried to buy a webcam recently, you know it is almost impossible to find one in stores or online. I was wondering if anyone has adapted their camera to serve as a webcam and if so, what did you have to do to to make it work?
I have a number of Nikon cameras, (Coolpix, D7200) and some GoPro clones all with HDMI outputs but when I plug them into the USB on my PC, there is no detectable signal nor is the camera even detected. I was hoping that some of you might have had better success than I have so if you could throw some suggestions my way, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I have both brands but my decision was made not by online reviews but rather by going to my local camera store and doing a "test drive"with my camera body (D7200) in the store. Only then could I both see and feel how each lens performed and also was able to ask the salesperson about lens specs, packages, etc. I was also given the option of buying a demo lens (actually it was the lens I was trying out) at a significant savings but with the same warranty as I would have gotten with a new lens.
I realize that for some UHHers this may not be possible but if you can, it is certainly worth considering.
Good luck!

I use KEH mostly ( D7000, lenses) but have also used Adorama and B&H. They are all reputable and give excellent sales support. I don't like eBay as much since there are no guarantees and I've had to return items that were not as described.

When I was growing up on LI, there were some great places to get great deals on cameras. Bought my Nikon FTN from Rockville Camera and other goodies from Berger as well. Now all that's left is memories.

I believe the owner decided that it was time to retire. I was told there was a buyer but that was back at the end of 2019. Until COVID hit, there was a website holding page but that's no loge there.
They were a good company and I found their deals better than the NYC stores. Sadly the field of honest, reputable dealers keeps shrinking.
