Thumbs Plus has the easiest to use resize feature I've run across. It's a great cataloging and editing program. You can maintain the aspect ratio or not. You can also batch process many picture adjustments, even renaming. Sold by Cerious software and is on sale quite often. Been using it for over 10 years.

You guys aren't that old. Here are the Kodak film cans from the early 50s. This is how Kodachrome, ASA 10 came. What a treat when they brought out the new high speed slide film, Kodachrome ASA 25.

"Good for you- glad you didn't use canned air!
That would usually do a number on your sensor.
Did you have the mirror up and the shutter open?
There should be a cleaning function in the menu."

I worked for an optical company for 18 years and am very sensitive to this issue. Our sister division in Connecticut made the Hubble space telescope.
As an EE we used canned air for cooling hot electronic parts by turning these cans upside down to really chill a part down. We were very careful to keep the optics protected from the coolant because of any possible residue it may leave. I use "Dust Off" sold at Costco. As an experiment I took a very clean filter and sprayed it with Dust Off holding it upside down and dosed it til frost formed on the filter. After it warmed up I checked it for any residue. Nothing. So using it in an upright or normal position there should be no concern.
However don't use it upside down on any part of your camera. Freezing could cause physical damage and cause adhesives to fail.

Selling a virtually new Nikon 24-70 mm lens. Shot less than 50 pictures with this lens. Because of a tremor I must have VR or a tripod. Plan on buying Nikon's new version when available. Comes with original box, lens shade, lens case and manual.
$1350 PayPal or cashiers check.

I have the present Nikon 24-70 mm, f2.8 lens without VR. I shoot a D7000 and a D800E but suffer from a tremor. I depend on the mass of these DSLRs and lenses to steady my shake. I have hardly used this lens because of the lack of VR, which really helps me. The new lens has changed the optics in addition to adding the VR.
My question is should I sell my 24-70 mm lens now to get highest value, or wait and see if the new one really performs better. My lens has less than 50 shots through it, virtually untouched by human hands, except for mine.

To copy your pictures to a Windows machine just connect the iPhone to your PC. Once recognized by the computer open Windows Explorer. Down at the bottom you will see the phone indicated as a camera. Now you can navigate via that icon and copy everything to your hard drive. You can't just pick single pictures because Apple gives them cryptic titles.
I've got two iPads and a 6+ phone and in general Apple and photography are a very lousy mix. Android makes all this much easier and you can get free camera control SW; plus moving pictures between your phone and the Android tablets is a piece of cake.

Get up early.....around 4 am. Take one of the free trams leaving from a school ground for one. Take your big zoom. You will be able to walk through the firing up areas. Besides the stills now will be a good time to try out your movie capability. Filling the balloons is very interesting and the sound along with the movies is fun to catch.
I got shots looking straight up where you can see the bursts of flames and the huge interior of the balloons.
Just about every person there will have a camera.
Visit the balloon museum at the end of the park. Enjoy the local breakfast burritos.

I'm still waiting for articulating view screens on all Nikon DSLRs. Good for keeping your clothes clean while shooting on the ground or when using your camera as a copying device or when held high over your head in a crowd.

I had a D90 that developed view screen problems as you described. It was still under warranty and had to go to Nikon for repair.

Actually there was also a 1Ds which I also bought but will be passing it on. It's a little older full frame, but not quite as useful to me as the 1D mark II.
I am impressed with the size of the battery pack, big enough for a power drill.
Being a Nikon guy now I thought these might be fun to mess with. I started with Canon in the film world but when digital came along I switched horses.

I picked up a Canon EOS 1D Mark II camera body for $200 at an estate sale. No lens. Money back guarantee. I am looking for a used lens to see if the camera works. I am a Nikon user and have no Canon lenses.
The crop factor for this camera is x1.3 so that puts the sensor size somewhere between full frame and Canon C (x1.6).
So will the EFs lenses work on this camera for do I have to go full frame?

I used the 18-200 for a while and was impressed. It was on the camera most of the time. Then when the 18-300 came along I purchased it and have been very happy with it. I find that the 18-300 is a little sharper than the 18-200. There is still distortion at the wide end but easily corrected.
But I also use the 28-300 on a D800E. I like to be ready.

Movement is a possibility, however, I have some shots like this but it was caused by the cameras flash going off. An optional possibility.
