I use Faststone which defaults to batch resize in "Pixels". You can change it to the tab, "in Print Size" which has a DPI modification option.
I've never used it but perhaps this is what you're looking for.

I downloaded it in May. I see that the latest version is still available for download.
Last Picassa Download version 3.9...
You can still download a copy of Picasa 3.9 B 141.259 at: http://filehippo.com/download_picasa/

If you have trouble, I can make the 14 MB install file available.

Since I know little about birding, I had to Google last year to see what visual recognition software existed. I've used it several times successfully in California.

Helps to provide the date & location of sighting.

It's one more contact surface to fail. I've used them in many cameras (DSLR, Bridge, Underwater) successfully and also have many adaptors that fail. Just bought 2 Transcend and chips were good but 1 adaptor fails to recognize any MicroSD card. On another note, it's wise to format any card once in slow mode once to be sure the whole card is good. Recently bought an actioncam that is only rated for 32GB max. Didn't read the fine print, used a 64GB, and even though test shots were fine around the house, a week of skiing was filled with corrupt files. Put a 32GB card in, quick format & tested fine, but another outing was lost. blamed the camera but tried a long (Un-Quick) format and the MicroSD card failed. (I have several failed MicroSD cards around)

Since the 60D can't charge the battery internally, and you don't want to drive back in to Denver... You could order and ship a genuine or generic charger and a couple more batteries (Amazon Prime) to a town 2 days out such as Grand Junction, to the Post office via General Delivery.

Be careful, as many items aren't in amazon stock and could take 5 days even though sold as PRIME. Look for "Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA)"
Charger (Home & Car),

With extra LP-E6 batteries.

Wasabi Power is also a popular after market brand.

---------------
Here's what it says in the FAQ section of the Amazon.com website...

The U.S. Postal Service does not deliver to some addresses. If you also have a PO Box address, it's best to use that address for your Amazon.com orders. All orders with "PO BOX" in the address are automatically shipped via U.S. Mail.

If a post office box address was entered in a format our system does not recognize, the package may be shipped through a carrier that cannot deliver to a post office box. To ensure that such packages are routed through the proper carriers, please enter the box number as "PO BOX" followed by the number.

The only time this won't work is when the item is too large for USPS postal standards. That would be any item over 108 inches in circumference, or over 70 lbs.

So, when you want to have something shipped while you're on the road, find the address of a small town postal station and have it sent General Delivery for pickup at that station. The post office is obligated to hold it for you for 30 days.

Here's an example of how it should be addressed...

PO BOX General Delivery
Mesquite, NV

(The add on zip code -9999 must be used for general delivery.)

I installed ML on a new 60D that I bought 3 years ago. I was very leary about damaging the camera so I researched it for a dozen hours.
I wanted more than the 3 exposures of bracketing that Canon gives you for HDR stills. As a video guy, I love having visible audio meters during shooting, and the ability to adjust dual mics independently. HDR video could save the day if you are willing to spend the time post processing.
It has dozens of useful features for the price of a donation if you like it. I just reinstalled it this week on 2 faster SD cards. I have been amazed at the features. Do your homework to follow the install sequence to avoid frustration. I use 10% of its capability.

Yes, without windows, HDR is less in need. (but with windows, you'll spend a lot more time getting the lighting balanced to show the outside colors)

Lee,
I've used a 20mm f/2.8 with a FF camera a number of times for indoor architectural work. It's proven to provide sufficient angular coverage to capture rooms quite well. The only trick is to make sure the axis of the lens is parallel to the floor. Along those lines, I've found that any wider angle lens presents problems with convergence and distortion.

In all reality, I'm not sure what your intent is in HDR techniques. I would avoid using HDR and concentrate on getting excellent exposures with a single photograph. HDR can get out of hand very quickly and render an unrealistic rendering of the scene.

Here's a couple of mine taken with the above mentioned lens.

Ben Willmore's latest course on Lightroom is one of the best I've seen. Slightly expensive, but this is worth your time and money...you'll be a LR guru and actually understand LR.

Another nice thing about CreativeLive, is that each week, the live shows are free. Being retired you may be able to schedule your time or participate in the live audience. LightRoom is a frequent topic in their Photography section. If you retired $well, then watch the On-Demand videos when you wake up at noon.

Also, is the 4K video just for handheld clips to add to your hi-rez stills... or do you need to shoot event videos that might last over 30 minutes? Most Cameras limit record time to 10-29 minutes. If you need longer, you need a camcorder and one with External Mic Input. Either way, Panasonic is a good place to start for either.. until you know what other details are important to you (low_Light, Hi-fps, etc)

I'd say don't get hung up on 4K resolution. You have to watch it on a big TV to see the difference from 1080p....but you also have to be really close...too close. See here: http://www.cnet.com/news/why-ultra-hd-4k-tvs-are-still-stupid/

For my needs, 4K makes sense as an origination format, but 1080p is fine for TV playback. For web, 720p is practical. The value in shooting 4K video is not any benefit of immediate replay, but the ability to pull stills from video or crop "reframe" video to end up with a better composition and still at HD resolution. A top of the line GoPro can shoot 4K video, but the field of view is 170 Degrees. Unless you are shooting something within a few feet, the object of interest may be lower than SD (Standard Definition), if you needed to crop. A 4K/30fps GoPro retails for $500. Other Chinese brands advertise 4K action cams for under $100. They get the numbers by interpolating and stretching an HD frame (1K) to UHD dimensions, and are often only 10-15 fps. . You could do the same in software. You might as well stretch to 8K or 12K video so you can feel really proud.

OK, so I have to ask why once they are on your computer, you would store them once again on a media from last century? If they are on your computer, you digitized them, leave them that way, back them up. Move them around the word with Dropbox, or a Transporter. Welcome to the 21st Century!

BTW, once they are on your computer, you can edit until your hearts delighted! make a copy, edit the copy so you don't destroy the original. You can only cut and splice VHS, and assuming you finalized the DVD, you can't edit there either.

I agree with Capture48, and add that most home-burned DVDs will not last, so do not rely on them as your archival masters. They rot. I am in the video business and burn hundreds of DVD projects each year. As tape ages it looses quality and has dropouts. A DVD or video file once corrupt won't play at all. SO, back the files up. While I can play VHS tapes that are 35 years old, many DVDs fail after 5 -10 years. Humidity makes it worse. Having the files up on YouTube or Google Drive makes it easy for all the family & relatives to view or download.

I saw the announcement yesterday and the retail prices from $400-$1200. I would want to compare specs with non-SuperTankers. My guess is you will be paying a huge premium. I have owned a dozen Epson printers and added CIS bulk tanks to most. As stated by others, you must use weekly and more often in hot weather. Epson electronics are also very finicky about recognizing "Official" cartridges. I had one printer on a CIS that was working fine until it stopped because of Epson's built-in max duty cycles. It reminds me of buying a Prius. Does it make sense to pay $10,000 more for a car to save gas if you only drive a few miles each year?

I'm assuming that the reason for that advice is that in the future, I could squeeze out usable images with post-processing. I give the same advice to friends who delete in the camera. I figure they may be able to crop or process later and end up with something great. My problem is that I'm a pack-rat and over-shoot anyway. I usually have many better redundant versions of anything I'm willing to delete.

Though hard drives are cheaper than management time, I'm still left with the desire to clean out some files, and the RAW are the bigger space hogs.

I researched it heavily 3 years ago, so as not to brick my new 6oD. I wanted more than 3 Exposures in bracketing for HDR and video features. No problems. Do read up on it.
