I have a Really Right Stuff Pano Clamp. About $255. This sits on top of the ballhead. All you have to do is level the pano clamp (it has a bubble level) which is easy to do. Since the panning element is above the ball head It doesn’t Matter if the tripod legs are not level.

What do you mean by “mask layer” can you post a screenshot of your layer panel?

As others have stated you are giving up control if you shoot in Auto. Before you take the picture you need an artistic intent if you want something more than a snapshot. You must decide what depth of field you want and whether you want to freeze or blur motion. --- You can not evaluate the exposure well by looking at the LCD because that varies with ambient lighting conditions and to what brightness you have set the LCD. The best way to evaluate the exposure is to look at the histogram.

It already ran on the latest windows and adobe and I have never seen a bug. What I got from the press release was that Dx0 and Nik now work together. I am happy with the free one.

There was at least one bug for me. Each plug in would crash photoshop cc (2018 -release 19.1.4) for me when I was done editinf in Nik.. I saw on a forum that if I went into the settings>"after clicking ok" and set it to "apply the filtered effect to the current layer" it solved the problem. The default which is "apply the filtered effect to a separate layer" caused the crash.

For me it is a question of artistic intent

Use the Nikon Lens simulator. You can see what any Nikon lens will look like on any Nikon body at different focal lengths

A known problem is that the NIK filters crash PS when clicking OK. A workaround is to open a (each) NIK Filter and open settings in lower left of screen. Click "After Clicking OK" and make sure you select "Apply filtered effect to the current layer".

Check the number of colors the monitor can present. Most monitors, regardless of size, only display up to 16.7 million colors. Sounds like a lot, but the best photo monitors display up to 1 billion colors. They can display the Adobe RGB color space to a much greater degree than the cheaper monitors. This, of course, comes at a price. However, check out NEC professional monitors. I have one that displays 1 billion colors and it cost less than $500. You can spend $2500 on an EIZO monitor. Good hunting and good luck!

Jump to Color in the human brain - When viewed in full size, this image contains about 16 million pixels, each corresponding to a different color on the full set of RGB colors. The human eye can distinguish about 10 million different colors.

For best results a monitor that gives you the same view independent of viewing angle is recommended. This allows you to accurately proof your images before printing which will avoid surprises.

One such technology feature that provides this is called in plane switching(IPS). see link

As long as you understand that Exposure Compensation is going to change one or possibly more of the exposure parameters. EC is not magic...

Best,

You can use exposure compensation in manual too. It redefines where the meter reads zero.

IMHO, if you shoot manually, you are seeking complete control of exposure. This would indicate to me that you would pick a particular ISO and then set the shutter and f/stop accordingly.

You might do this for wildlife or action photography,- especially where the light might be changing rapidly. You might not have time to set the iso for each shot.

The sony a7rii has a mode that auto focuses on a person's eye. It works well.

Be aware that if you shoot panoramas you don't need a wide angle lens.
