Inside a house, not a cat's insides.
I'm going to be taking some shots of a few cats tomorrow evening, inside a house, and am wondering which of my lenses to use. I have the Canon T3i with the following four lenses. I have a Sigma 18-250, Canon 17-85, Canon 18-55, or Canon 55-250. I'm leaning towards the Canon 17-85, cause I think it should give me fairly decent shots, especially if the cats are constantly moving as is their normal way of being. I have to get shots of the cats that can be blown up to 8x10 size. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Also any help with actual settings for camera would be of great help too. Thanks for all the comments in advance.
Love it. What did you do to get it that way?
Both are very good, but I agree with most that the first is the best. It's not that often that a bird looks directly at the camera. I'm just in love with the blue eyes.
Very unusual, but very effective. Nice work.
Here in Colorado, they are called paper wasps. I actually have a few pictures of them. I'll try to find them on my backup drive, and then post them.

We are getting ours tonight. I thought about going out and taking some night shots; but it is still snowing hard and I don't want to mess up the camera. I know the pros take their cameras out in all kinds of weather; but then, they have to. It is their job. I'll wait till the white stuff stops falling and then try for some nice images.
If you have a clean window, you can take photos from inside your house. Just make sure that you have your lens right up against the glass.
Welcome to the published club. I got my Thanksgiving photo in two different papers, and I just found out that my Christmas photo was published too.
Love the table picture. It looks like there is a valley on the seat.
It's about 15' up the tree, and I was about 3' from the tree. Just glad thatiit's winter too.
The thing in the tree is actually a paper wasps nest. Normally they don't get that big, but seeing how it went undisturbed throughout the year, they were able to get busy.
I like the 6th one the best. You caption says it all.
That's what I call snowbound. It looks so peaceful. I also love how you can just make out the snowflakes that are still falling. Nice shot.
