I've been shooting for about 8 years, been through a half dozen cameras and with each newer model it seems as if there are more and more focus points along with numerous bells & whistles as an excuse to raise the prices. Why does one need 12 or 24 or 36 focus points? Seriously - all I want is for the bloody camera to focus on a center point. If I want the focused object to the side I press the button to focus center, then hold down, move the camera and shoot.
I can appreciate the modes for portrait, action, landscape,etc when you're hurried but how many people actually make use of multiple points of focus?

Remember right after the Travon Martin shooting, the prosecutors had no plans to file any charges UNTIL Obama stuck his nose in and literally demanded that charges be brought ?

SANFORD, Fla., (UPI) — The five-week trial of George Zimmerman that ended in his acquittal in the death of teenager Trayvon Martin cost the public $902,000, officials said.
Zimmerman, who was charged with murder in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17, in Sanford, began June 10 and a six-member jury returned the not guilty verdict on July 13.
The biggest cost associated with the trial was paid to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, which spent $425,000 providing security, planning and logistics during the trial, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Wednesday. The second biggest was the $183,000 the city of Sanford spent on police overtime.
Sanford police decided to up security to curb potential violent protests as well as protect Zimmerman, who had received death threats
Juror costs also were high. The Clerk of Courts Maryanne Morse spent $34,600 during the jury’s 22-day sequestration, during which the six members of the jury lived in a hotel and were isolated from their families and media reports.
The trial costs are based, in part, on estimates and do not include criminal investigation or pretrial costs, such as the $80,000 the Seminole-Brevard State Attorney’s Office paid to have Special Prosecutor Angela Corey work on the case.

My suggestion would be; Congress deduct $1,000,000 from Obama's "pension" and send it to Sanford, Florida to covewr the un-needed expenses.

I hear you and agree, that said it is the folks in the "race business" Jackson, Sharpton and their ilk, that would go broke but for racial divide. We do not see Sharpton running to Detroit, Chicago, South Philly to stop the violence of blacks victimizing blacks.
Only when it is convenient to their cause do you hear from them. When it suits their purpose you can not keep them from the closest mic.

I grew up in the 50's and 60's, LI NY. Ours was a very mixed neighborhood, folks from all over, Blacks, Asians, Whites from every part of Europe.
I, for the life of me do not remember hearing "Mic" or "Guinea" or "Pollack", "Kraut" or any of the "street" classifications one might associate with ones ancestry.
It simply was not done. kids on the block all played football, stick ball, hand ball, went bowling, made snow forts. Out parents had other parents over for cookouts, swim in the pool, play badminton.

First Time I heard the "N" word was basic training and I was quite taken back. ( by the way that was not the end of the conversation, the recipient made it clear to the person that said that word how little it was appreciated, punctuated with a bloody nose")

IMHO there are simply too many valid reasons not to like someone than to use their race for an excuse.

The whole race issue (in my mind) is so far in America's rear view mirror that it is time to be Americans rather than hyphenated Americans.

My folks came from Sweden in 1911, We call ourselves Americans, and Swedish was not spoken in the home. So proud were my Grand Parents of becoming Americans, English, very broken English was THE language.

Comparing the racial strife in the early 60's to now is absurd. Can anyone number the Black Millionaires of 1964?
2? 4?
How many Blacks enjoy wealth their parents and grand parents can not fathom?
What nation on earth produces more opportunity than America? What nation on earth can claim more wealthy citizens from more varied backgrounds?

When the likes of Dr. Bill Cosby are held as leaders, rather than the haters, race baiters like Sharpton, Jackson and those like them. Americans of all back
rounds will prosper.
