I've used On1 Resize to make Triptychs which sounds like what you're trying to do.

Yes. With this On1 you can select an option to "Tile" which then allows you many ways to split the image -- including the amount to overlap the tiles if desired. The separate tile are saved as individual files; you can print each one separately.

I just now experimented with dividing an image into nine tiles for a 3x3 tiling. Easy.

Thank goodness for the invention of punctuation. I just wish it were used more often. It certainly would help when the reader is not familiar with the subject.

It's an old building in Maine - it probably IS leaning!

Yes. . .But did it lean MORE in the time it took to switch from the camera to the cell phone?

Picture #1 taken with Nikon D850 in the A mode, picture #2 in with I phone 12 pro max.
For me the second picture is better. So the cell phones have come a long way in challenging the big boy’s. What’s your opinion.

I agree with previous criticisms of the second one. In addition, however, the second one is angularly distorted. It look like the structure is leaning, not just tilted, toward our right. The trees also lean but it's not as apparent.

I think this is what you should expect. The rocket went up to the right so it spread the reflection to the right. There is nothing in the left side of the sky to reflect in the left side water. Great shot btw...especially from 42 miles away!

Alan

I agree that Alan's explanation is correct. For instance: Instead of that bright trail, if there were a very tall tree (and in the daytime of course), you would not expect any of the tree's reflection on the left side, but you would see the reflection of the tree on the right side (affected, of course, by ripples/waves in the water).

Person is a friend who had been there before. Had to cancel due to personal reasons. I don’t see a need to warn anyone.

In that case, ask your friend for a list of places to visit or just get a guide book. There are many interesting places, all well known and with good photo opportunities, and driving around is not a problem -- there are not tons of roads there.

. . . I simply converted it to B/W today with the result that I have confirmed my preference for RGB.

BTW, I removed the terribly cluttered background of the original image and replaced it with this self-made textured one. Then created a PNG layer of the orchid itself and gave it a 3D effect by adding a Drop Shadow. Then I merged all layers. As mentioned, I did the conversion today .

I would say that your B/W version shows your lack of experience in doing this. I would even guess that your preference for color acts as resistance to making good conversions. I'm not being harsh; just do good work with color.

I looked at a few of his photographs from "On Assignment." Very appealing. What is your connection to the Museum?

You can add text so it appears on top of the image or below it.
If you want the text on top of your image, you create the text first and place the pasted image link below the text.
Vice versa if you want text on the bottom of the image. Paste image link, then create text below it.
You can also leave different amounts of spaces between text and images to get things to appear how you wish.

I just learned (by bold experimentation) that the whole page can be edited. So I merely added text to it in the usual UHH way.

Don't forget you can add your page to your signature!

I changed my signature, but it apparently goes to the image. Your signature goes to your User Page. How's that done?

Actually if you use 'attach original' and link that image you will have a better image.

Thanks, but I'd rather not have it manipulated.

Another thing that would be good, if you are going to create a user page with your photos, drop a link here so we can all have a look! It'll keep this thread going to the top of the page for a while so others can see it and create their own user page.

Don't forget you can also create pages for anything else! Photography stuff, other hobbies, you name it, whatever you want people to see. If you click on any user's name it takes you to their profile and from there at the bottom you can see you can access any of their user pages.
Another thing that would be good, if you are going... (show quote)

Thanks for all this. I'm testing with an image of mine. I'm assuming it does not have to be attached with "store original" selected. And I hope I understand all the instructions -- meaning that AFTER it appears here I'll send it to my Pages. Here it is. . . .

Just a simple question here. What the hell would that printer cost?

The print was that large but each section was “only” maybe ten feet. So that makes the printer MUCH cheaper. But still probably not cheap.
