Some of us do not have anywhere we display all our photos in one place. eg flickr etc
I found a great and easy way to put all my photos in one place is right here at UHH with "User Pages!"

If I ever wish to direct someone to see a number of my images, I can just link them to this one simple page:

https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/user-page?upnum=3025

You can put this link in your signature so it appears on all your posts as I have done.
You can easily add any image you have uploaded to UHH to your user page.
This allows you to create a portfolio from any images you have on UHH.

Here are full instructions how anyone can do this:

1. Go to "My Profile" top of the page
2. Under "Account Settings" you will see "My Pages"
3. Add a title for your page. eg My Photography, My Portfolio etc etc
4. To add an image, find one you have uploaded on the forum
5. Right click your image and select "Copy Image Location"
6. Right click an empty area on your user page and select "Paste"

You will have an address something like this:
https://static.uglyhedgehog.com/upload/2021/4/4/t1-687000-test.jpg

7. Now you just need to add a little extra text so the text displays as a photo and not a link as mine has above.

To the front of the address you pasted on your user page, add [img*] WITHOUT the asterisk.
I have to add the asterisk here in the examples or things won't display properly.
Just follow my steps but do not include any of the asterisks anywhere and it will all work.

At the end of the address you pasted you add [/img*]

In my example address above, the beginning will look like this:

[img*]https://stat.....

The end of the address will look like this:

....87000-test.jpg[/img*]

8. Save your user page.

You are done!

If you would like to add text to display as bold as I have done on my page, just add [b*] in front of the text and [/b*] at the end. Again, do not add the asterisk.

Add your page to your forum signature if you wish!

If you require any further help post here.

These user pages are really handy! We should be making use of them as you can add anything you like here and create interest for those who visit your pages.

Yes, it makes it easy to have a quick reference to your photos in one place.
It is also possible to add photos you do not have on UHH in forum posts.
I can post further instructions if anyone is interested how to do this.
I didn't include these instructions above to not confuse people with too much information.
If you wish to add images to your user page that you don't have on UHH anywhere, let me know and I can also explain how to do this.

You might be interested to check this out...

(I will be adding your idea of creating a simple portfolio here. Note that in the pages you cannot post directly at the moment.)

I found a way around that allows for larger images to be accessible by using a dummy thread where you post everything then create links to post larger images.

I posted my own list of images inside their threads... Using pages

I use archival digital and dvd storage disks. This old man does not believe in “the cloud”, nor any online storage.

This is not about storage but showing images...

The OP was not talking about cloud storage. He was explaining how display your photos posted to UHH, in one place.

will

I see you have posted in the Photo Gallery before. You can put all those images from those threads in one place so anyone can see them easily at any time.
The storage for those images is wherever you have stored them. I am simply showing you how you can display them.

You can improve on that to avoid a long page...
Place thumbnails side by side and link to the download of your images...

You can even add a hard space to create a gutter...

You decide the size of your thumbnails... I went the lazy way here.

I wonder something.... Is there a way to have a line feed in there?

YES!!!!! Discovered something else today. The line spacing is at the right size too. THANKS.

Thanks, that's good to know.
If people are going to add a million images they may need thumbnail alternatives or to create more pages.
I'm personally going to just use it more as a portfolio and if I post a series of images in the forum I'll just take the best image for the user page.

Another thing that would be good, if you are going to create a user page with your photos, drop a link here so we can all have a look! It'll keep this thread going to the top of the page for a while so others can see it and create their own user page.

Don't forget you can also create pages for anything else! Photography stuff, other hobbies, you name it, whatever you want people to see. If you click on any user's name it takes you to their profile and from there at the bottom you can see you can access any of their user pages.

Thanks for all this. I'm testing with an image of mine. I'm assuming it does not have to be attached with "store original" selected. And I hope I understand all the instructions -- meaning that AFTER it appears here I'll send it to my Pages. Here it is. . . .
