What attracted you to the scene? What did you see? What were you trying to portray?

Reflections are one of those elements that can fascinate us in person, but that can also distract us and lead to some bad compositions or boring images at best.

This is probably the best basic answer! Add to that balance and you've got it.

Hello all. My name is Manny and I am new to this. I need some advice/opinions regarding taking pictures from a wheelchair that I am confined to. I am a hobbiest and just shoot for my own pleasure. I have a Nikon dslr 5600 and a Tamron 18-400 lens. Mainly I shoot landscapes, rusty locks, gates rusty fire plugs, flowers, and some street photography. Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks.

Try something like a SnakeClamp.com. They have several sizes and specially make flexible gooseneck holders for a variety of needs.

Personally, I consider Duracell JUNK! I use Eveready batteries fairly exclusively. LESS issues (but still some). Best to remove batteries for longer term storage.

Agree that batteries should be removed for long term storage. Long term in my opinion would be six months or more.

Figure that most cameras need some kind of trickle to maintain the internl clock if not something else. Knowing that, you can just say goodbye to them.

Hi Everyone,
I am asking for advice to help me get rid of AA battery acid that leaked into my infrared cam battery compartment. I left the batteries in for approximately 14 months while storing it.
Someone told me to use a q tip dipped in vinegar. Do any one of you have any other suggestions other than taking it to a shop to be fixed? Thanks in advance.

If it is a nationally known manufacturer, it is very likely they have a guaranty of some sort. Call them and they "might", (operative word),
clean it for you.

Back in the 90's an Everyready battery leaked in an old flash unit a small amount. I called the mfg. to let them know about the problem after self cleaning it. They offered to repair it or pay for the damage. Having cleaned it myself, I just reported it to them and did no other follow up.

In short (and I quote): "Pentax Astrotracer is a feature that very effectively uses the camera’s sensor stabilization in conjunction with the camera’s GPS. The sensor stabilization system uses data from the camera’s GPS to move the camera sensor to match the position of the stars in the sky."

Depending on focal length an exposure up to 4 minutes is possible without star trailing.

True for Pentax K1 and I think a couple others have it akso. Plus I think most Pentax cameras have built into them an Interval Shooter, Interval Composit, Movie Record, and Star Stream.

It addition to all the other feastures, the Star Stream lets you automatically make those fancy star trail shots and from within the camera. So you don't have to purchase a bunch of extra things to have those functions.

So you see, Astrofunction is not the only goodie Pentax has.

I tried Capture one (the free version) and besides having to use the library function that I absolutely hated, the initial image conversion from RAW was terrible and would require a lot of work to just get it to the quality of the jpeg that is produced by the camera. I found it awful to use and was never able to get a RAW file to my satisfaction.

The best editor I found was Luminar but even that is good (to me) for jpegs but I couldn't get a RAW file to look as good as the SOOC jpeg. With Sony cameras the sharpening and noise reduction they do in camera with jpegs has been especially difficult to reproduce with any RAW editor I've tried, not to mention that the color is always way off in the RAW file and takes a lot of adjustment. Sony color out of the camera is really good and is difficult to match (for me) editing the RAW file. I would really like a solution to this mystery but believe me, I've spent hours trying to get RAW to look decent and it was all, so far, wasted time.

Okay, CO may not be the one for you. Why not just use what Sony provides? If not that you're probably not going to find what you want.

Yes there is, although it may be a bit in the cheating catagory.

At the pixel peeping range, simply replace the "trails" with dark space.

Be kind enough to suggest the easiest RAW editor program for Sony raw files, either free or paid.

Thanks a lot for your time.

I fully agree with those who reomend Capture One!

Most of what you want done can be automatically performed upon importing.

For me the only things difficult after that is remembering what else I want to do. LoL

You "write" your story, other "write" their own.

Personally I don't have any hassles with your story, technically maybe, but not at all with your story.

Keep coming up with stories! They're interesting.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and am a amatuer photographer mostly just for pleasure. I'm looking for a lens for my sony A6300 that can be interchangeable with the sony A9 which is on my wish list for the future. I have the G-Master 100-400 and a Zeiss prime Touit 1.8/32. Looking for maybe a 70-200 or similar, I want high end glass. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Being the term "walk around" is very subjective, I believe the factories have already told us. The standard kit lens or a higher quality version of about the same thing.

Hello! I’m looking for advice on an easy to program intervalometer. I’ve searched and read the previous questions similar to mine, but they’re all years ago or irrelevant to my specific question.

I have a Canon EOS R, and I just got the PIXEL shutter release/intervalometer and it’s like doing algebra to program it. I used it once and figured it out, but I’m looking for something more user friendly.

Does anyone have an intervalometer they love that’s east to use?

Just about every camera mfg. copys what other mfg's have. With in the last 15 years, I'm guessing Canon has copied Pentax.

The intervelometer built right into the cameraa's menu is about the easiest I can think of.

I’m a bit confused by your remark about most pickpockets being kids in reference to my diaper bag suggestion. Why would a kid be more likely to steal a diaper bag rather than another type of bag? If I’m missing something obvious, please enlighten me and forgive me.

BTW, my husband and I have traveled to Europe several times over the last few years, and have never had any issues. We are both very situationally aware whenever we are out in public. Our bags are always carried in front of us - NOT on our backs. We began doing that when we realized that that’s what the locals did on the street as well as on public transportation. The same held true in Africa and South America. Antarctica was not a concern as the only things the penguins were after were rocks and stones for their nests.

Having looked up thievery I found out that the kids will steal anything, ever a salami sandwich if they can.

Ever if it's not something of large value, it might be something useable by another of their group.

For example, the kid steals something anything, it could even a baloney sandwich, and brings it to their "pimp". If that item(s) is not what you think is worth stealing, someone in the group does or knows someone who does need it. So the "pimp", (being the great person they are. LoL), gives it to to that child who might use on a real baby in a carriage, that might have been used to distract you while the others are ripping you off.

If you can think of a way, they probably do it.

*Also, be sure you have a reliable method to cancel your credit cards and your cell phone service, if it comes to that.

Another thing to be prepaired for, would be to quickly replace your passport or whatever you use to travel with. For Americans know where the American Embassy is.

Hopefully nothing will happen and you can enjoy the friendship and sights offered by the country. If a problem does occur, you will be ready.

Most kids don't care about the wording. If it has sharp angled protruding edges, as most camera bags would have, they go for it.

I've checked in on kids and the thievery and they that any and everything they can get. If their "pimp" doesn't want it, it might be given to and older kid who takes care of the really young kids or a baby.

Yes they do use babies in carrages also. That make them look harmless and the other kids can do their dirty deeds while you are distracted.
