Be kind enough to suggest the easiest RAW editor program for Sony raw files, either free or paid.
Thanks a lot for your time.
Alas, there's nothing 'easy' like the magic Easy Button for processing RAW files. Everything about the file needs to be completed on the RAW file, including: sharpening, noise reduction, lens correction, toning, and contrast. All technical things the camera would have done for you when creating the JPEG. And those are technical adjustments before you begin artistic adjustments for leveling, cropping, exposure, WB refinement, cloning, saturation.
There are stand alone packages that may / may not need periodic upgrades from much the same price as you originally paid, every year or few years. Adobe's subscription for combines Lightroom and Photoshop is an ongoing $10 monthly subscription (forever). For free, look at freeware software GIMP.
What would you consider easy?

I would say easy edit flow NO complicated. How Sony's menu is considered complicated compared to others? Something like that.
Look at Capture One Express -
Paul's suggestion is substantially valuable as Adobe's RAW editor is laid out quite nicely. Just work your way down the various settings and your RAW file is ready to put the finishing touches to it.

The easiest will likely be what Sony suggests - Capture One Pro Sony (or the free express version, but I found it very frustrating to use). I believe you can get it as an upgrade to C1 Sony Express for around $80. The part that makes it super easy is that it has an auto-adjust mode that actually works very well to get you a good image quickly with a single button press. And if you want to autoadjust an entire group of photos, you can select them and adjust them all at the same time - and each image will get the adjustments that are unique to it. Then if you are not happy with the results, you can tweak whatever needs tweaking manually.
It is a very richly featured converter, so that has your proficiency improves the advanced features are there for you to use down the road.
All that aside - I have a Sony camera, and I routinely use Lightroom/Adobe Camera Raw, DXO PhotoLab 2, On1 Raw 2019 (and I am testing 2020) - and none of them interpret the raw data as well as C1, nor do they provide as great results with the least amount of effort as quickly as C1.
Piling on the Adobe ACR, I have saved settings that I use all the time for my PP. The save process is easy, but for some reason took me a few tries to get it right. Does make the initial settings easy and saves time.
If is just basic editing like exposure, WB, contrast, saturation, highlight & shadow, they are all pretty easy. The annoying complexities come in to play with how the results are stored. Do you keep the original raw, or replace it with DNG, TIF or whatever? What’s a “sidecar” ? Where does the editor put both the original and the edited file. Ect

Adobe Photoshop elements is pretty easy. It uses the Adobe camera raw engine when you first open the raw file and from there are easy regular and advanced modes for whatever level of hand holding you desire. Free 30 day trial, see what you think.
Very straight forward RAW editor, but slow as compared to others. Needs more than 4mb memory to perform
decently.
Thanks

You want an easy RAW editor? Why? The easiest thing to do is to shoot JPEG.
