Nice shots. Try slow shutter speed to visualize motion. Try faster shutter speeds to hold the object. Try panning with a tripod or monopod alongside. Try monochrome. Try 50mm lens. Most of all stay off the tracks!

I watch the Ball drop on TV. One year I I went with friends. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne. We signed the bottle. Someone else grabbed the bottle out of my hand. Really upset. Will never do that again.

My sincere condolences. Good photographers MUST share their talent. Take some of his work and display it in a gallery for others to view and learn. Include a short synopsis of your friend's life. If you want to donate camera equipment do so at a local high school. Make a big presentation. Display your friend's work there as well. It will inspire young students to be great photographers. He will become immortal. I'm sorry for your loss.

When I needed a car for my camera gear other stuff and friends I bought a new car. It was a 2001 Nissan Quest. It was a work horse. I donated my 2001 Nissan Quest after 18 years. It was my favorite. I bought it when I needed a car. Went to the new car show room, looked around and bought it. I knew how much I wanted to pay and not put up with the salesman's tactics to get you to buy a more expensive car with all the bells and whistles. I'm a tough sell. I know what I want. I feel the same way with cameras.

First of all, PLEASE stop the name calling. My wonderful, talented and beautiful wife is also my best friend. We share almost everything. Except dancing. She's trying to get me to go. If you want to call me a wimp, so be it. M okay with that. By The Way, you have two choices in life. You can always be happy or always be right. Pick One! I nod my head to my father. A very happy man.

Welcome to the forum as well. First I started learning photography way back in 1976 just starting high school. Great fun and a lot of work. Now years later I'm still learning. I was teaching my son as well One of the great characteristics of photographers is humility. A great trait to carry in your camera case!

I have a fantastic Labrador Retriever/Dalmation mix. He is great but loves Pidgeons, cats, squirrels and raccoons. Yes we have raccoons in Brooklyn New York. And yes, they are rabid. Steer Clear of the little beasties, folks.

Thank you very much. As I said, I recently purchased this beautiful machine also known as the Canon 5D Mark IV. The other camera that I was crazy in love was the Canon AE-1. Thanks again and happy New Year!

I just purchased a Canon 5D Mark IV. I have noticed that the Canon batteries drain quickly. I did not have this problem with my Mark II. I believe it is because of the touch sensitive LED Screen. I keep my camera on most of the time.
Are there other users with this problem?
Would it be best to keep the camera off?
Should I use my battery grip?

I have recently upgraded from a Canon EOS Rebel 2000 and then onto a Canon 5D Mark II. I have not noticed this issue of ruined skin tones with my 5D Mark IV now that I am using it. I can suggest using different lighting or apertures. It is quite possible that your flash needs to be softened by changing the settings. Perhaps bracketing your photos may help. Finally, I must say that I am spoiled by Kodak Portra Film. It was the best for my Rebel 2000.

I am not familiar with the camera you have. But I have purchased other cameras and equipment from ADORAMA as well as other stores in the New York Metropolitan Area. The prices are usually the same or about across the board. What I look for in a retailer is do they take the item out of the box and let you "fondle" it? Is the person behind the counter eager to make the sale or has experience with the camera or equipment? Are they willing to ask the purchaser poignant questions for your intended use? Also, is the retailer able to fulfill the warranty? These questions will ferret out the inferior stores and lead you to a store you will enjoy doing business every time and again. I am a tough sell as it goes. But, I am loyal to a store I know will deliver on my demands! HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am planning to donate a Canon 5D Mark II to a local high school. I would be interested in donating other cameras and equipment as well. I would provide a 501(c)(3) certificate as an acknowledgement of the approximate value for tax deduction purposes. My son was starting to learn photography. You can log onto my son's website for more information
It is www.BGMFoundation.org.
Thank you for your consideration and time
