Thanks for the prompt reply Acufine. When I said "bug free" I guess I should have defined it as "house bugs". I’m from Minnesota and the Mosquito is our "State bird". Thanks for the links on lodging and guides, I will keep them on file.

My wife and I would like to visit Caddo Lake, TX next year in late February, 2019. The beautiful photos I have seen on this forum speak for themselves but I would like to ask a few questions. Where do I stay, near by, that’s clean and bug free and a recommendation on a guide service to go "on" the lake to take photos. Also, how is the fishing at this time of year? Any fishing guide recommendation? Isn’t there an old steam boat trip? Any websites recommendations?

From a photographer's POV, the Newseum is a must. Go there when the weather is too hot to be walking around outside.

I live in the Minneapolis area and have been doing business with National Exchange for over 50 years and have NEVER had a bad experience. They helped me get started in this hobby by giving me expert advice in cameras, darkroom equipment, projectors etc and are a third generation business.
I purchased a camera from them in November 2017 and returned to their store in Golden Valley in early May after a winter in Florida with the camera. I told them I just wasn’t happy with the quality of my photos. Their regional manager,
Julie spent about 1 1/2 hours with me and after taking numerous photos with my camera, an identical camera and a couple of upgrades she offered to take my camera (and all the accessories, filters, lenses hood etc) back and gave me a full refund credit. WOW!
Julie then spent more time helping me pick out a different camera that I’m very happy with now. She just couldn’t have been better in any way.
They carry a complete line cameras, accessories, photo processing, classroom courses and their counter help is second to none.

My photos are on my computer, iPhone, iCloud and iPad at full size. The editing software is on my iPhone and iPad.
I use my iPad Pro and mobile apps like Snapseed, TouchRetouch to do most of my general editing. I also have the
app "Infinity" downloaded on my iPad but haven’t had to used it yet. The mobile apps I use are improved and updated
in a timely matter and are either free or a couple of dollars. Snapseed (a Google/free app) and will do almost everything I need including vertical and horizontal perspective correction, layers, masks et. TouchRetouch ($1.99)is just great for removing unwanted objects and has a very good clone brush. Good Luck

I use an iPad Pro with the Apple pencil and it does a wonderful job of editing. I love the fact that I’m not hunched over
a computer in my office. I can take my iPad to my favorite chair by the fire in the winter or the screen porch in the summer. I also love the option that I can edit, sort, etc my photos on a road trip when it’s my wife's turn to drive.

The Rod and Gun Club in Everglade City is "old Florida" on steroids; absolutely wonderful!
You can go crazy photographing the interior, its just a beautiful old hotel and restaurant.
It is just outside of town on the Baron River.

I would take old highway 41 (Tamiami Trail) and stop at "Shark Valley" Visitors Center, (Everglades National Park). It’s about in the middle of the state on the south side of 41. They have a tram ride, guided by a park ranger that will take you 15 miles into the bowels of Everglades National Park to an observation tower.
This is an ABSOLUTE MUST for a photographer; I was there in the "film Days" and burned through all my film in my camera bag. There were birds and alligators galore and the views of the saw grass and hammocks from the tower were just marvelous.
I was there in February, the dry season, so there were few bugs and the ditches on either side of the tram trail held some water, so there was lots of wild life was concentrated there.
Bring bug spray, batteries, memory cards and make a reservation. Their website will provide you with all the information you need. Good Luck

Beautiful colors, Florida sunsets are hard to beat, aren’t they? I would remove the power lines and poles from both and crop the cars from #1. If you don’t have a computer and Lightroom, you can edit them very easily on your phone or tablet with the "Snapseed" app; that is free.

The Apple Pencil is "pressure sensitive" and only works on the iPad Pro, not my iPhone 7. You are right that you can zoom in and do really detailed work.

I’m an amateur photographer and I have an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil that I love to work on. I have had good luck using mobile apps, like Snapseed etc but have just bought the mobile app, Affinity for only $20.
My question is, should I buy a Mac Book and Lightroom or will I be happy with Affinity on an iPad Pro? I hate to go through all the trouble of learning Affinity and not being happy with it and THEN have to learn Lightroom. The mobile apps have improved A LOT and some say it’s the wave of the future in PP.

I had/have a Rolliflex with a 3.5 Ziess Planar lease and my enlargements were FAR superior of any of my friends
35mm Photos. There was absolutely NO comparison. Square photo, no problem, I just left room to crop them
when I took them, cropping didn’t effect the quality at all. The large 2 1/4” negative and quality of the Ziess lense
was unbelievable. There were big disadvantages, expensive large heavy camera, expensive roll film, expensive processing, only 12 exposure rolls, square format etc, but ohhhh were they sharp. I went into digital "dragging my finger and toe nails" but I would never go back.

The Newseum is a GREAT place for photographers to visit for reasons already stated, but all of Washington DC is
a photographers paradise. The springtime, especially the last of March/first week in April during cherry blossom
time is prime; but very busy with tourists.
