It was necessary to take a selfie showing my new Aero A-2 jacket, so I had to comply. My phone selfies always come out blurred, so I had to set up my tripod and bring out my P900. Since I had to do it, I thought I'd embarrass myself here, too.

I love the look Fred, except for the cord growing out of your leg...
Like the hat. Did the leather thing back in my motorcycle days.
You look like a real cool dude...love the pose.
I agree with Plieku69, a Tilley hat even makes me look good

Thanks. The hat is a Mallory Eagle, made some time during the early 1950s. Mallory was acquired by Stetson in 1952.
Cool hat and jacket. Do something about the cord before you use it for a Christmas card.
I must admit you have given me an idea. Maybe I'll use something like this on top of my casket for my funeral.

OK, so now you've gotten into the maudlin territory, let me tell you something I'm doing. I have a four year-old granddaughter. All she knows of me is I'm the old guy who buys dinner for the family once a week, and pretty much dotes on her when I'm around. Given that I don't have much of a history of my grandparents, all who died when I was quite young, I've started creating an autobiographical timeline. In it, I'm putting major events of my life, both internally (injuries that left me with lifelong after-effects, schools attended, etc.) and externally (JFK assassination, Challenger disaster, 9/11, etc.) and how they affected me. I have photos of homes I lived in, schools, cars I owned, guitars, and so on.
I'm going to wrap it all up in a box and leave it for her, so twenty years from now, if she's curious, she can find out who and what Grandpa was all about.

That's a great idea. I have thought about it, but not moved to make it happen.
I hope you can.

I'm all but done. With the timeline, that is.
I'll update as I remember people, events, etc. But should I become an angel tonight, my granddaughter will have my project, titled, "Who Was Grandpa?"

The company is going to make me an Internet star! They've asked for the full size copies that they can spiff up (remove the cale, etc.) and post to their Instagram account. I'm going to let them; I have no interest in retaining copyright for these images.
