A beautiful photo and I agree with you on toning down the rocks in the foreground. I also turned my iPad vertical to
view the download in in a portrait perspective. IMHO, I like it better with the Cathedral rocks centered and all the trees and brush on the right side cropped out.
Another winner Gregory, I love the lighting. The eyes of the birds in your last two posts are just magnificent!
I'm unfamiliar with a Wacom Tablet and use an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil. Is a Wacom Tablet better?
Advantages/disadvantages?
I know I can Google this question but I’m interested in what UHHs have to say.
This brings back wonderful memories of my first road trip as a young adult with my best friend. We drove his 1956 Buick
Century convertible from Minnesota to the Rose Bowl Game in Pasadena Ca in 1961. We never even had a flat tire but made a few wrong turns on the LA freeways. I Photographed the trip with a Kodak Retina with Kodachrome film.
It doesn’t get much better than this; and yes, Minnesota won the game!
A GREAT photo, for sure. I have photographed the light house in daylight from a pull off area on Highway 61 just south of the lighthouse myself; is this where you took this wonderful photo from? There must have many others there also, was there room to park? Any inside on photographing the lighthouse when it’s light is on in November would be greatly appreciated.
A very nice photo, but where is this lighthouse on Lake Superior?
Thanks to all of you with your help on the waterproof camera bag issue, and we had a couple of laughs too.
LL Bean also has waterproof bags that are priced similar to the Watershed brand. Also a Yetti soft sided cooler
IS definitely waterproof FYI. Before boating/fishing seasons starts here in Minnesota this spring, I will have a WP bag and make a report on it. -
Stay Tuned, Jeff
Thank you all for your advice. Like I said, I will use my camera bag, with dividers and padding of course, and drop it into a waterproof bag of similar size.
I am a boater and fisherman and I have a couple of waterproof camping bags in my boat that I keep warm cloths in but I want something better for my camera. I have been researching waterproof CAMERA bags and have come up with a bag with the brand name "Watershed".
They have a few models and the one I’m interested in is the "Ocoee" model. I can just drop my small 8” x 8” x 12”
canvas camera bag inside the waterproof bag and zip it up; simple and easy.
The Watershed brand bags are made in the USA and are guaranteed waterproof but the Ocoee model is over $100.
Have any of you had any experience with this brand of waterproof cameras bags? Have any of you found a better bag than the Watershed for less money? Thank You, Jeff
A beautiful photo Jack, with an interesting perspective!
As a lifelong resident of Minnesota, I hope you enjoyed our "North Shore". I think it’s the best coastal photo drive in the
US. California and Maine are great but the North Shore of Lake Superior on Highway 61 is VERY user friendly to tourists
because of all the public access areas. There are so many parking areas, with picnic tables, clean restrooms etc that are close to magnificent vistas and waterfalls. Split Rock Lighthouse, (that one can actually climb up in) is a great photo
opportunity to photograph the gorgeous shoreline of the worlds largest lake. I hope you also enjoyed the quaint little
towns along the shore and you were treated friendly.

The Northern Lights and the Big Dipper look spectacular; wow, WOW!
There called a "stone bag." I bought this one from Amazon and it works great to set anything while your shooting. I always set my camera bag in it and it is semi dished so items won’t roll off.

I know from personal experience that grinding and welding sparks will pit my "glass" eyeware; so I assume that it will
pit a camera lenses too.
a WONDERFUL photo fourlocks
