I purchased a Canon Pro-100 on a sweet deal - $395 with a $250 rebate! Came with a full set of starter ink cartridges, and after a bit of researching on YouTube I can now easily and satisfactorily refill my own ink cartridges with replacement inks from Precision Colors. If you are looking for an inexpensive and quality alternative to high-end photo labs or going the Costco or Walmart route, I can highly recommend this product. If you are looking for the highest quality and resolution you can obtain to sell or market your work, a pro photo lab is usually the best choice. But for printing your wall-hanger photos and displaying them in your home or providing them to friends, the Pro-100 is a great little printer. Enjoy!

When photographers say, "This is my vision" they may mean that whatever hot mess comes out of the camera is exactly what they INTENDED to come out of the camera! :Loved the list:

Here is an editing road map for the Nikon Capture NX-2 software. Straightening is in phase 4.

Wow - thanks for this exceptional post - I tend to edit as things strike my fancy, but after reading your post I now have a detailed "roadmap" to follow! Much appreciated!

Okay now, I brought the KY jelly for all of you Adobe CC fans. After you bend over and grease up it helps to chant OM. It's known to help the sphincter relax and open wider.

Let's see, and this has something to do with photography?? I know that Facebook is a haven for ignorant, self-indulgent rants, but I had hoped to avoid those in this forum. Sheesh....

The upgrade in PS that contained Select and Mask to replace Refine Edge is worth the $9.99 and then some. As long as the upgrades are this significant, and keep coming, I consider the monthly rental fee to be a bargain.

Both eyes closed, spray and pray! I can always fix it in PP! :-)

Jeez, if I wanted this kind of animosity and snarkiness, I probably should just go and post a provocative political statement on Facebook and ask for opinions! But then, someone would tell me I could have found it on Google! Peace, my brothers and sisters - this is photography - fun, creative, satisfying, passionate, fulfilling, and joyful - remember?

I love PS, don't use LR, PSE or other PP software. I use a couple of plugin programs (NIK, for one, which is now free and will not be updated!) I have no problem paying a reasonable monthly lease fee for the use of the software, and expect that, over time, with upgrades, security patches, etc. the cost would balance out when compared to purchasing a stand-alone program (if it were available) and paying for periodic upgrades. And I whole-heartedly concur that computer OS programs (Windows and Mac) should have OPTIONAL upgrades but should continue to function in their initial iterations as long as the user wants to keep using it in that mode. Every time I get a mandatory "upgrade" on my OS, seems like a lot of features I really like have been "improved" into oblivion. I believe in "you (should) get what you pay for" but nowadays that's a tall order and not much implemented by manufacturers. Follow the money...

If it's of no practical use anymore, and you don't want to hassle selling it for parts, why not take it apart and see how it works? I remember taking apart old radios, broken power tools, etc. just to see what was inside. And like WessoJPG says, what have you got to lose? :-)

Gosh, what a beautiful catch! And the photo was pretty good, too! Wonderful composition and a great story it tells of Mother Nature's ways. Thanks for sharing!

I learned the hard way (photographing a rodeo, taking over 300 shots, and ending up with squat for usable images!) that a higher shutter speed (at least 1/1000) is required to minimize camera shake and motion blur on moving subjects and especially when using a tele lens. I see Thomas902's image above at 300mm and 1/2000 second, and am totally jealous of the clarity and sharpness in that image! I used a D7100 with a Nikkor 55-300 f4.5 and most of my shots were around a shutter of 400. I know, I know, but at least I learned something. Anything moving I will only shoot at a minimum of 1/1000 now, and let Auto ISO do its thing. Hope this helps!

LOL! That is like telling the general population to visualize what he or she needs to do to make it to an NBA final. Most of us with most things in life will never make it to the top, that is why it is called "TOP" Very little real estate is available up there, and very expansive.

True, but in virtually every endeavor - sports, photography, etc., visualization is an absolute key to success. Just because you may never be published in a magazine doesn't mean that visualizing it won't help your process.

The only thing that counts is the image, not how you got there.

Absolutely! Van Gogh had a vision for his art that no one of his time shared - the only painting he ever sold during his life was to his brother Theo so he could make rent. Now, we recognize the genius and vision of this great artist. He could have painted with the best brushes and paints, or the cheapest stuff on the market, but the results speak for themselves and no one remembers if he used a camel hair or horse hair brush.
