Both good images. The second shot is nicer than the first. The first one is slightly back-focused.
Cool sun shots. It’s a shame you weren’t lucky enough to have a boat or some other object in the foreground to offer scale and additional interest.
1000 at 2.8 should be fine most of the time. I assume you have a tri/monopod for the 400 2.8 since they are so heavy. Keep panning with the action otherwise you may need a faster shutter. From the looks of your attached image I’m sure you’ll handle it well.
Wish I’d been there. Nice set!
Nice photographs. Did you need a permit to hike there?
Human drivers make thousands of times more mistakes than the Tesla computers do. The software is still being developed and maybe it’s out a bit too soon but once it becomes ubiquitous we will all be much safer. Keep going Elon!
Some of the stone quarried in Appalachia have a reddish tint. I think the color may be accurate, especially since the green looks good.
I had this issue early on with my R5. It turned out the touch screen focus feature was enabled and my nose was moving the focus point. I’m not near a manual so I can’t help you find it but give that try.
You might try creating a composite. Take a photo of him shooting from behind and mask-in a second shot done with a long lens from the same angle. If taken within a few minutes of each other the sky would match and might not look too fake. Just a thought.
Thanks Larry and everyone for the nice comments
