Hey ESWO.... go to HR block. Our taxes are always complicated [multiple properties and incomes] and they have been very good for us foe many years.

Dont they charge? I am trying to do my sons, that is pretty simple, or should be. I have done more complicated with less brain issues. Did My husband and I's for years until we acquired rental properties and things became a little too complicated for me to handle, so we use an accountant. He doesnt make much and I am trying to help him...doing them online free. I am all good on it except for calculating his estimated quarterly tax payments...the worksheet says see instructions but I cant find them anywhere. I need a good night sleep and hopefully tomorrow it will all come together. Thanks for the tip...if I cant get this sorted out we may have to seek the help.

okay.... I finally understand this .
Just when I was ready to walk away from it.... in fact I had walked away. My wife convinced me.... or more accurately would not shut up until I let her take a look at the problem.
CREATE LAYER FROM BACKGROUND..... jeeezez. If I right click on the thumbnail image in the top right layer panel and select layer from background, AND THEN.... and ONLY then click on the layer mask button.... THEN I can continue on and start getting results.
I just did NOT understand the difference between layer from background, and duplicate layer.
It is all quite obvious once I am able to see it.
Yeah ok....so maybe for some, or rather one of you it is all …. DUH! Well "DUH" is NOT helpful at all in any language. What WAS helpful was to just sit here and re read everything and translate it into my "other planet" interpretation until the light came on.
Everyone learns differently... I have to translate into "dumbass English".
Now that I appear to have found the "missing gear from the clock that made it impossible to work", I am at least moderately hopeful that I will continue to understand this concept; and begin to apply my imagination as I would like to; rather than using sub standard alternatives.
SO... thx to my wife who wouldn't shut up.... and to you guys [with one exception] who didn't give up on me, I can move on.... maybe even produce some halfway decent results.
okay.... I finally understand this . br Just when ... (show quote)

Yay! So glad you stuck with it and got it figured out. Now, the fun really begins! You have a great wife, she knew you could do it all along...that is why she kept pestering you about it.

Now, if someone could help me with these taxes; I have brain matter oozing out of my ears, my head hurts, and I want to be done.

you could just create a fill layer of solid color between your two layers...then when you mask the color will show through

I’ve had both hips and knees replaced, my right hip being the last done April 2017. I’m only 74 but I walk a brisk 18 minute mile almost everyday on the treadmill at various degrees of angle and feel as well as I did when I was much younger! I suffered pain for years before my replacement surgeries, now with my new joints I feel like an uncaged animal 🙂

Yay! Love it when medical technology can enhance the quality of life. My Mom's legs do not work more from back and nerve issues. I think pain control is her only option. I wish there were a simple treatment because she is otherwise fine, and I hate seeing her in pain and struggling to just walk around her house. We get her out shopping every Saturday which she looks forward to all week. None of this effects her outlook and happy attitude about life! My knees are just recently starting to give me fits - so your results are encouraging!

Went out with the dog this afternoon. Couldn't get out during the best light, but the images turned out OK. Some of the shots I enjoy because they are difficult species to capture. Downloads can be enjoyable.

Blue-grey Gnatcatcher, Spotted Towhee, Brown Towhee, Northern Mockingbird, Western Bluebird, Honey Bee..

Enjoy.

Thank you, I did very much enjoy! Great set of images.

Thank you for your service. Hopefully someone will help you out with your project, I would if I had the ability. Perhaps if you were able to get quality scans and provided them digitally you may find several people willing to take on a dozen or so each and eventually get them all repaired.

Really, really, really enjoyed the read and all the facts you shared! I added the book to my wanted list, as it looks like a great read. I hang out with my soon to be 80 yo old Mom every Saturday and treasure my time with her, she hasnt forgotten how to have fun and has a great outlook on life. It is all about perspective! If we could just get her new legs I think she could go another 80...

It took me forever to understand the tools in PS. I spent a year opening and closing the program in utter frustration. Do Not Give Up! Years later and I love the specialized editing it makes available to me that can take an ok image and really make it shine! One of my favorite PS tutorialists is Unmesh Dinda of PixImperfect. He keeps it free, breaks it down pretty simply, and covers a lot of features in short little tuts.
