I totally agree with You. I have a D5, D6, D750, D850, and a D500. But, I did buy a Z9, and Guess What?, Drum Roll please Someone Call Out John Henry Bonham, I can shoot the same Subject and it can be a Kingfisher or a Person, with my D500 and I guarantee that Nobody will see a Difference between me putting a Shot from that Camera from my D5, D6, D850 or Z9. Now, all of the Pundits will try to display their Knowledge, or lack thereof, and talk DXO Marks or Dynamic Range Capabilities, when in fact, they could not tell which Camera produced which Image. And then when the Village is calling out for one more Idio-Brainiac, had to catch myself because I laugh my fanny off, these people on this thread will challenge me, like I Broad standing over a Cobra and dancing and actually asking the Cobra to Challenge Her. Now, I want to Hear Everyone throw their Proverbial Darts at Me. Go ahead, I grew up in Queens New York and Graduated from Michigan, so give me Your Best Shot, but remember a 22Caliber can Kill just as Good as A 9mm, in other words, they still accomplish the same ending.

Are You Kidding. Have You ever heard of a Corporation that uses one segment to help the other. You Guys slay me when You try to talk like You are a Board Member. At least though Your weary Minds can spell Revenue. For GOD's sake, Give it a rest and Give Peace a Chance. I could really be an Idiot and take this subject and You to Town on this one, but nah, I will save it for a better Topic.

Nikon will quit producing DSLR's and go exclusively to mirrorless!

So. What makes this news. And actually they will still be producing the D6 and they have run some D850's and the New D780's, so I don't think that DSLR's are completely off the table yet. I will tell You like I tell everyone else, Camera Manufacturers will do what every other Corp. does, and that is, They have to quench the Thirst of the Shareholders. So if that means producing DSLR's, then that is what they will do. What I do not understand is, Who really gives a rip about Nikon, Canon, or Sony, and let's not forget Leica which produces the finest Cameras ever for Street Photogs. So who cares about which Company does what? I don't because I will shoot with a Pin-Hole Camera to get shots. Every time I turn around, and especially on this Site with the UHH Posts, there is always someone talking about Brands, Now Pepsi is a Brand Name and Coca Cola is a Brand Name, so I don't care if You call it Red Dog Crap, Put a Choke Hold on it and just don't call it Blue Magic.

Okay, I will say this right now, Stop It With The Making Fun Of Anyone That Puts A Thread Out Like This OP has Done. I cannot believe that this has turned into a Joke that He Did Not Deserve.

Hello fellow members,

I had previously posted seeking comments/advise on Nikon Z 611 camera; in addition, I am also looking at Nikon

D780 Camera. Could members offered their opinion on the D780. I am hoping to go on a cruise in January.

Thanks in advance.

Save Yourself a lot of time and just get the Z6II with the Newer FTZII Adapter. The D780 is a very capable Camera, but if that was the Route that You are Truly leaning on, then pick up a used or Refurbished D750 and then I would tell You to buy a D850 for $2500 tops and You May be Able to grab one from B&H for $2200. I would buy the D850 over all of the 2 Cameras that You are interested in. Like Nike says "Just Do It". I'm out and Good Luck, but seriously consider My Advice.

The Z6II is essentially an update of the D780. Spec wise pretty similar with all the advantages of mirrorless.

So You are picking the Z6II over the D780, right? I say this because in the OP's post, he sounds conflicted and is looking for us that are on this thread, a viable reason to choose one over the other. I say buy the Z6II and the newer FTZII adapter and a couple of Batteries as I always carry extra batteries no matter what Camera I have, whether it is my Z9 or My D850 and even my D5, D500. I think that makes the OP receive a better answer.

I hear you... Sometime I will tell you about Pink Floyd in 1972 just when Dark Side was released and sitting on the floor with 5.00 tickets 15 ft. from the stage in a local Armory in Tampa... Have a great day... Bob

I can only imagine that. I went and was allowed into the Photographer"s Pit in '76 at the Joe Louis Arena Concert, I may have the Tour Year mixed up but who cares, my Friend had some very good Herbal Tea and here we are with Our Camera's and at That Time You were allowed to be there for 5 Shots and they had a strict rule about that. So, when we Finished we were supposed to get out. Well, the Tour Manager asked us if we got what we needed and I told Him that we were only able to get 2 good angles. He told us to get back in and not to worry about how much Time we had. They started with "Dark Side Of The Moon" and it was great of course. At School we showed Our Shots off and even the Teachers could not believe it. I sold- 2 24 by 30's to 2 different Teachers and that was 1 Cool Blast. I gave them the Pics for what my Custom Lab charged Me and My Friend. Our Final Grade For Advanced Biology and Physics was a 4.0.

I'm sorry to Reply again but I pay Apple $9.99 a Month for 2TB's for extra iCLOUD Drive Storage. I figured that You probably already knew about it, but if not, I wanted to share this with You as I also use what You do.

Like I said, I run pretty much the same way that You do and I'am also shooting in Raw plus JPEG FINE when I shoot Sports, I do it with Sports as they want everything Exported in JPEG anyway. So if My Shots Look Clean SOOC in JPEG FINE, then it saves me a lot of time, then I turn on some Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd in my Man-Cave and have a few Crown Royals or eat some Prescribed Medical Gummies and Chill Out until Dinner or after 11 PM. Life is too short to have Hangups, so just enjoy the ride. on the Front part of my Sons and where I will join them one day it reads "We Weren't Here For A Long Time, But We Sure Had A Good Time". So You now Know where I stand hopefully.

I'am not Hateful towards anyone in this Forum. If you read any of my threads, then you will see who I'am in the truest sense of the word. The Admins. do I great Job and Service for us to be able to speak about all things Photography. And sometimes people get a little hot-headed, but that does not give me the right to follow that Behavior. So, I'am Truly Sorry for my comments directed at CHG_Canon and for my Fellow UHH'rs to have to see what I said.

Nickaroo, I am sorry for your travails - I get that you have had and are still having a difficult life, and no one has said you are ignorant. But this is a simple: rudeness is not OK, and a number of the things you said about Paul are simply untrue and easily checked. With all due respect, I would suggest you check your facts and apologize. Simple and done.

Cheers

I apologized to Paul Tonight On a Different Thread. It was wrong for me to lash out at Him Like I did. I'am not a cruel person, but sometimes I just get into the Bad Zone and Dark Spots in My Life. When I'am Wrong I will admit it. I actually like Paul and I feel that He is A Great Photog that has a vast Knowledge to share and He Has Done it With ME Before. I was very dumb and inconsiderate of How he would feel by Me Doing What I did, somehow I had my Screen Display still up and when I got back for Dinner, Let's say that My Wife kind of jumped me because she said that she has never seen me act this way. She also said that I'am still Living and I have to accept what Happened to My Sons and the Fact that they wanted us to be Married on the Day Before My Son went into action. She got to Hug Him and tell Him How Much I loved Him, but I was at The University of Michigan because His Younger Brother was on a Ventilator, Boy I would Love to go back in time and just be able to shoot the dirt with Him. He passed on a Full-Ride to go to Duke University on a Scholastic Scholarship to Serve Our Country. Well, He did and when 9/11 hit, As I watched those Jets go into the Twin Towers from My Cousin's Balcony, I knew it was not going to end well, chalk it up to Father's Intuition. He was A Trained Sniper for The Ranger's, so I knew when He Called me and Told Me That He Was Finally going To Use His Skills, it was not Him as He Would never Talk like that so I thought. They cut off the Phones as I was trying to tell Him that I loved Him. He never got the chance to come Home on Leave as Him and His Best Friend Volunteered to Take the Dogs Out to check for mines, His Friend had lost His Father Many Years ago and they lived 3 Houses down from mine. The rest is History even though I remember the Car Pulling into the Driveway while I had the Guys in the Garage telling them How Proud I was of my Son. Thank You for Your Thoughts and again My Actions Were Uncalled For In Regards to CHG_Canon. He is a Brilliant Man and Who Am I to Say Otherwise.

I retired this year, so my only existing goal for the rest of 2022 is to write less and photograph more.

I spent much of the first half of the year digitizing old film from my youth. I put together a video "slide" show (Ken Burns effect style still animation) for my 45th year college reunion. That kept my still image post-processing skills and Final Cut Pro skills fresh, and gave me a goal. Most of the images in the 44 minute, 800+ image show were from classmates, but I had about 100 in it. I copied, cropped, straightened, spotted, color-corrected, digitized, panned, zoomed, and edited every image in the show. The projected version was in 4K UHD.

This weekend, my twins, wife, and I will decide whether to enter the Greensboro 48-Hour Film Project for the fifth time. It's an international organization that has local city hosts all over. Greensboro usually has around 25-40 teams compete for local awards. Teams spend 48 hours creating a seven minute film from scratch, given a character, a genre, a line of dialog, and a prop. It is exhausting, fun, and amazing to see what we and the other teams create with all-volunteer casts, musicians, crew, minimal equipment and time, and lots of urgency.

Thank You Very Much For the Information, MR. Teacher and I think that You will still be Teaching because You Have It In Your Heart and Soul. I feel that You have made a difference in so many Young Hearts and Minds. I retired from being a Federal Agent chasing down Drug Pushers, that was in 2014. Well, You know of my Health and How Bad that it is, well I'm still at it as I just can't sit back and watch Our Kids Die from Fentanyl Overdoses. And You will Never Be Able to Stop Teaching, It defines You and You are one of the Most Genuine Person that I have Ever Met, and For that Alone Sir, I Tip My Hat To You. I Love Your Comments and Stories where You can Back them up through Your Experience and Professionalism. Good Luck To You In Your Retirement and I will expect that You Will Continue to Straighten this Old Drug Cop Out. TY-The Nickster.

Your future self will thank you for buying a mirrorless camera today.

It already has with the Z9. I'm truly Sorry for some things that I said towards You in another Thread. Paul You are a very educated Man and You do help Many People with Your Knowledge on Post Processing and You are Correct about Mirrorless Cameras, but I think that due to People needing better Performance, then they need to get on the Information HWY. And discover that they will have to invest into the Future if they want to stick to a Great Photographer or just a Average kind of Photographer that will only do so much. Please accept My Sincere Apology, I'am not afraid to say that I was wrong for the way that I responded to You.
