I bought a Dell XPS15 at Costco. Very happy with the purchase.

Another vote for Affinity Photo. Lot's of good tutorials. Similar in functionality to PS.
One time purchase - $50, or wait for a sale. No charge for updates.
I liked it so much I also got Affinity Publisher and got rid of MS Publisher.

Thanks - can you recommend any specific display port cables? Locking or non locking?

Thanks - Talked to B&H (Where I purchased it.)
They said to turn off the monitor hardware acceleration in Capture One. That fixed it.
Never would have guessed that.

I just upgraded my photo editing monitor with a BenQ SW271. Had feedback from other UHHer's that this is a great monitor. It is a beautiful display. I'm using it as a remote monitor running it from a Dell XPS15 via a docking station.
The trouble comes when I try to edit a photo on that monitor using a brush in Capture One. The brush is super slow - to the point of being unusable. The brush works fine on the XPS15 monitor.
I was going to call BenQ on Monday - but wanted to see if anyone else had seen and solved this problem.
Thanks...

Black Rapid - It lets me carry the camera at my hip and not be banging in front of me. Even with a 100-400 lens and 1.4X extender.
I have a RRS plate on the bottom of my camera. I use a RRS quick disconnect to connect to the RRS plate. I worried about the security of the quick disconnect - but have used it for years without an issue. The only problem is that I had to cut the Back Rapid Strap - and resew it to add the RRS quick disconnect - but well worth it.

Interesting - I've never heard of SVG. The output looks good.
The output will be used in Adobe InDesign or Illustrator to create printed or PDF data sheets. Also web content that is created in InDesign or Illustrator.

Do you know if a Tiff file with a transparent background can be exported to Adobe Illustrator or In Design?

Affinity can export via 8 bit PNGs. The edges are pretty rough.
I can cut the pixel size down which helps.

I'm looking to connect (off line) with someone who is well versed in Affinity Photo - especially around exporting .png files. I'm trying to reduce the size of the .png files which are around 50 meg and too large to manage.
Thanks...

I've had the R5 for a few months and find it a significant upgrade to my 5D3. Image quality is much better as is the auto focus. I took this attached photo using animal eye recognition. And I cropped the heck out of it - which 45MP will let you do. I just purchased the RF 70-200 2.8 to go with it. Big expense - but it is an improvement over the EF version - much closer focus - and lighter.
This was taken with my EF 100-400 and 1.4X with RF adapter. Hand held.

It looks like you've created images similar to the reviews of the lens from both www.the-digital-picture.com and www.kenrockwell.com, particularly the angled view at a wide aperture in Rockwell's post. Both reviews comment on using Canon's lens profiles in DPPv4, where the correction is possible, but not perfect. Avoiding the angle, light and aperture setting is probably most effective.

You are correct. There is an image of a watch in the Ken Rockwell review that shows blue tick marks on the left and brown tick marks on the right.

Thanks for everyone's help on this. I thought I had a bad lens and/or camera. Now I realize it's just me. :) And according to Scotty - the laws of physics.

There was mixed light - good call. I had been shooting with strobes at f22 - so visible light wasn't an issue. When I changed to f2.8, I forgot to think about it.

Yes. From a zoom lens wide open and from areas out of focus it's not only normal it's expected. Can't imagine you'd get otherwise.

Thanks - would you expect to see similar results from a prime lens? In other words - is this an issue related to zooms?

Thanks - I can certainly fix it with the color editor and a mask. I was trying to figure out what I was seeing.
I'm assuming that white saturated letters are close to a bad scenario.
If I lower the light levels and don't blow out the whites, the problem is not as bad.
