New Monitor Problem with BenQ

I just upgraded my photo editing monitor with a BenQ SW271. Had feedback from other UHHer's that this is a great monitor. It is a beautiful display. I'm using it as a remote monitor running it from a Dell XPS15 via a docking station.
The trouble comes when I try to edit a photo on that monitor using a brush in Capture One. The brush is super slow - to the point of being unusable. The brush works fine on the XPS15 monitor.
I was going to call BenQ on Monday - but wanted to see if anyone else had seen and solved this problem.
Thanks...

It's probably not the monitor. You might want to call Dell first.

Thanks - Talked to B&H (Where I purchased it.)
They said to turn off the monitor hardware acceleration in Capture One. That fixed it.
Never would have guessed that.

I have two Benq SW2700PT monitors and haven't had any problems with PhotoShop Hardware Acceleration .I do use the Display ports coming out of my graphic cards and I use the USB 3.0 port coming out of my computer like Benq recommends . Are you using these ports? Do you have trouble with any other Programs ? Just curious , I don't use Capture One , but many other programs with no problems .

My guess is that the problem would be the port on the video card in your Dell computer or the cable used to attach the monitor to the video card. Most new monitors these days recommend Display ports and cables. I had to upgrade my display port cable about a year ago. Another guess is that the right drivers have not been installed.

Thanks - can you recommend any specific display port cables? Locking or non locking?

At B & H this is what I found for your new monitor.

I do not know what cables came with your monitor. It might help us know exactly what cables were supplied and what ports are available on your computer's video card.

If you need a display port cable it has to support 1.4 (not 1.2) I have no idea what that means. The cable has to support all of the features built into your monitor.

A locking cable is not needed IMO unless either male end might be under some stress due to cable position or length.

If you attach the monitor with other cables , they have to match the specs below. That means your Dell computer should have USB 3.1 ports and not just USB 3.0 ports. These are usually labeled on the computer.

If you use HDMI cables, it needs to support HDMI 2.0 or better.

Connectivity
2 x HDMI 2.0 Input
1 x DisplayPort 1.4 Input
1 x USB Type-C (USB 3.1 / USB 3.2 Gen 1) Input/Output
2 x USB Type-A (USB 3.1 / USB 3.2 Gen 1) Output
1 x USB Type-B (USB 3.1 / USB 3.2 Gen 1) Input

Here is a link to a DP 1.4 cable found at B&H as an accessory for your monitor.

Before you buy anything read all of the tech stuff in your manual or download it from BenQ.

Another thing BenQ says--you need to use the power cord that came with the monitor.
