The Bosque is one of my favorite places to visit but I rarely make the long trip from Oklahoma to experience. Thanks so much for posting your great photographs to remind me of this remarkable place.

Beautiful. I have never visited Yellowstone in winter.

Each year for the past 10 years or so I have been producing calendars, using my photographs, to give as Christmas gifts to family and friends. I make wall calendars for family members and put names and birth dates on each appropriate date square as well as large photos. for each month. For friends, I produce desk calendars using smaller photos. I use Vista Print's online program to produce these calendars and also use Vista Print to print them. I find their program quite easy to use in constructing the calendars and the staff has been quite helpful when I have questions. I also use their program and printing service to produce Christmas cards. In my opinion the quality of their products is excellent and they are prompt. Go on-line and search for their site and give it a try.

Are all the entries to this challenge posted in the same place somewhere? Will we be given a chance to vote on our favorites?

The lens I used to take these photos. was a Sigma DG 150-500mm mounted on my Nikon D7000. The "oven" I used to edit them was Pixlr, a free, online editor I use to crop and make minor adjustments.

I regret that I did not post in the appropriate place. Thanks for your advice and I will attempt to be more careful in the future.

In an earlier post, I included a photo. of a Gulf Fritillary (butterfly) and asked for comments and suggestions. The responses were helpful and I have attempted to calm down the saturation in my more recent attempts to create butterfly portraits. The following are some of my more recent efforts. Again I ask for your suggestions for improvement. From top to bottom the butterflies are Monarch, Painted Lady and Cloudless Sulfur.

Thanks for sharing. South Padre Island is one of my favorite bird photography destinations, especially in April when "fall out" happens. Birds, which are migrating north and have just completed their journey across the Gulf of Mexico, are exhausted and very tolerant of photographers. It is nice to see that there are also lots of photographic opportunities at other times of the year.

I have been surprised that there have been so few eclipse photos. posted so I thought I would share my attempt with you and hope to get some feedback. To create this composite, I covered the front of of my Sigma DG 150-500 mm telephoto lens, which was attached to a Nikon D 7000 Nikon camera, with a solar protective film I had ordered for this purpose. I then mounted the equipment on a tripod, pointed it toward the sun, zoomed in and began shooting. Camera settings were f5, 1/500 sec, ISO 1000, 150mm. I repeated this process for the next three hours until the sun/moon eclipse dance was completed. Here in north central Oklahoma, totality was never achieved. Subsequently I also took a photo of the field and trees where I was photographing to serve as a background photo.
Using the free online pixlr editor, I edited, cropped, and made transparent, the photos of the sun/moon and superimposed them on the background photo. I then added the text to the composite.
Hope you enjoy this effort and please send your comments and suggestions for improvement.

Thanks for your response. I have been able to reset the camera so that all .jpg, .nef, and .mov files are sent to and saved on the card in slot 2. I've ordered an new 32 GB card and all seems to be working well.

Sorry about the personal information. Thanks for reminding me.
When I removed the 32 GB memory card from slot 1 of my Nikon 7000 camera, I noticed that the upper right corner of the card was damaged. When I attempted to replace the card, it appears that something inside the slot may also be damaged, preventing proper insertion of the card.
I am seeking advice on the names and addresses of Nikon camera repair providers who are competent, prompt and reasonably priced.
Any advice you can give regarding who to trust with this repair or whom to avoid would be greatly appreciated.
Also, is there any possibility that the files on the damaged card could be retrieved? If so, how?
Thanks in advance for your advice and help.
