stepha11 - did you order through Amazon ? if so when exactly and dd you get a notification that it has been shipped ?

I already have Nikon D7100 and Sony A6000. This would be my third camera for cruising and shooting distance.

Just venting my frustration with Amazon/Nikon. I ordered Nikon p900 (backordered) on July 17th. I even bought in advance a uv filter and 2 extra batteries. Still waiting for the camera. Been more than a month now.

Anyone bought this camera from Amazon and received it ?

I have had this issue happen to me on Nikon SB28 and I fixed it by going through some flash setup procedure by pressing some sequence of buttons in the flash. I honestly forget what I exactly did but it was in the manual. Please check your flash manual.

I could never figure out what setting it was - I reset the camera and the problem (or setting) went away. Thanks for the answers.

I will eventually receive my p900 and wanted an opinion on which camera to take on a week long cruise to the Caribbean. I have already ruled my D7100 due to weight.

I was wondering whether to carry my sony a6000 with 18-55 lens or the p900. I need your viewpoint(s).

Hello all. I still do not have the camera yet. I have seen several posts about this great camera. I have ordered in Amazon and still not received it yet. I have a genera question though. As compared to a DSLR - I already know that I cannot change lens in this (but I get a fantastic zoom instead), and I cannot shoot is raw. But other than these two drawbacks - how does it compare to typical DSLR such as a Nikon D7000/7100 in features. Any other deficiencies I should be aware of ?

This plays into another post I will have comparing this to another camera for a cruise trip.

I am bamboozled by a particular behavior in my almost new A6000. I have not used it much and am still learning so please pardon the question.

This happens only on P,S,A,M setting and does not happen in the two automatic settings. I have not tried the rest.

The problem is that when I click the shutter release button - the camera seems to click a few times (maybe 3-5) times and the the screen states "Processing" and finally there is only 1 image to see. I could not see any clear setting mentioned in the manual for this behavior. I was thinking it is the DRO/HDR - but that setting is even greyed out in P,S,A,M. Is this a defect ? or a setting ? If so - how do I make it just take one picture (one click) ?

I wanted a slight clarification. Should the Airplane mode be ON or OFF to mitigate battery drainage ?

Hello - I am a bit perplexed with the battery drainage in my Sony A6000. I must first admit that I have been using a pair of generic batteries (vivitar) for awhile. I have not observed (or paid attention) to the original battery for this behavior. The problem is that even when the camera is switched off (which it is most of the time), there is significant battery drain. For example, in 1 day the battery drains from 92 % to 78%. Is this normal A6000 behavior or cheap battery problem ? Any comments are appreciated.

Does someone sell a 4" - 6" strap that I can loop through one side of the camera triangle/strap holder and hook the other end to the black strap carabinieri. This will be an insurance in case the tripod thread fails. I would not even know what to search for in ebay.

Can a tripod thread be trusted to hold a hanging camera ? I just purchased a shoulder harness to hold a camera. It came with a clip at the end that screws into the tripod thread. How much can I trust this to not let go of the camera and give me a heart attach .....

Anyone have recent experience on this. Nikon p900 is back ordered and wanted to know anyone who bought it from Amazon recently. If so - how long did you have to wait ?

I was wondering if there is any way to smoothen a face with any software. I have a friend who is very beautiful but has acne and she does not want it any pictures we take during a graduation ceremony. Any help on "how to" is appreciated.
