Anyone have recent experience on this. Nikon p900 is back ordered and wanted to know anyone who bought it from Amazon recently. If so - how long did you have to wait ?

Thanks

Welcome to our forum!

There is no way of knowing how long you will have to wait. Several people here have had to wait for the P900 from other sellers. It's just a matter of Nikon making them and getting them out to dealers.

i ordered mine, from Amazon, when it was first announced, and I believe, I was one of the first, to receive it, I"ve enclosed some photo"s i took from a miami hotel balcony, facing the sea, the first one is a blip on the horizon, the second is what I saw at full zoom, all shots were hand held..distance aprox. 15 miles.Truly a wonderful camera..

Handheld I find the image moves around a lot with the tele extended making it hard to center my subject.

I waited about 3 1/2 weeks to get mine from Amazon. That was back in May.

See if B&H has them. This is where most people are getting them.

Sorry, ranger, you're overestimating the distance.
From beach level you can see 2.7 miles.
From 4th or 5th floor where it looks like you were, you can see about 8 miles.
To see 15 miles out you need to be 250 feet up, or about the 20th floor.

It's still pretty impressive! Apply the new anti-haze filter and it'll feel dockside.

250 feet up would be the 25th floor!
