Our EMS guys and girls responded to a house where a drug party was going on, Narcanned one individual who came back from the dead and refused to go to the hospital...later in the day, same story, same individual...even later his buds left the house and there was nobody to call 9-11 and he died. It sounds terrible but those of us in emergency services just love that story. A stupid person wasted his life for what? And you want to know what truly pisses this fireman off? If you have a diabetic episode you have to pay for your insulin...but we, the taxpayers, provide Narcan to your druggee ass for free!
There's apparently only one engine in there so I assume they're on a call?
And everybody contributed...I was an Air Force Weather Weenie...and the airstrikes couldn't be launched without us!
Hey Barn Owl...I don't think it's rats...my guess would be mice or possibly some in the squirrel family. I know that people hate glue boards but I worked with them for almost forty years and they are very effective. I used to bait them with a single sugar coated gumdrop ( if you can still find them anywhere ) and when you catch a mouse on it then leave him there...his squeals will attract others and I have seen a glueboard with six mice on it. It sounds nasty, it is nasty...but it beats the hell out of a several hundred dollar repair. And if you just can't stand the idea of them being on the glueboard then you can release them back to the wild with mineral oil...just remember that mice do bite and they do carry diseases.
Two bucks under trump...four under biden...sorry, that ain't supply and demand...and the turkey just shot down millions of acres of drilling potential while telling us that he's going to get the gas prices down. Trump was a slob but the country absolutely prospered under him.
Where's the power source for that thing?
Non-venomous but I don't call them harmless as most all of the water snakes seem to have foul tempers and a tendency to want to chomp something.
So Dirty...did you bother to read the previous comments? So "pornography at it's worst" is not the same as saying "the apex of porn"? Did you check with your local English major about that? And my point was in response to his comment and was most certainly pertinent to the discussion.
Jonsummer...if you really think that shooting people is the apex of porn...did you think that in German or Japanese?? Because I really don't feel that it's porn to save the world from evil.
That's interesting...in 1966 at Seymour Johnson AFB on night shift in the weather remote obs. site I saw an unusual, very high speed light that appeared to be a landing aircraft over Goldsboro. I mentioned it to the forecaster on duty and he told me very bluntly to forget I had seen it and not to mention it. In '66 we didn't own anything that would have been capable of the speed of that light. It traversed the horizon in about three seconds as I recall, and in my other assignments I never saw anything similar.
Now that's just plain funny!
That last photo is just downright scary! Power lines rank at the top of what kills ballooners.
In N.C. we now have to use an area code...quite annoying and the phone companies are blaming it on the millions upon millions of cellphones out there and running out of numbers.
Yes, YES...pure lucky luck does definitely exist. If you're taking flowers or other static displays then maybe luck has nothing to do with a good shot but when you are taking moving scenes, such as the type of photography that I do, then luck is a definite factor!
I don't photograph for art...I do EMS photography and I have to get the shots quickly while staying a reasonable distance away from the actual incident...five feet is too close so I'm usually about fifteen feet away and generally the entire scene is in motion as victims are cut out of vehicles. I use a Sony with the 18-250 lens and it works well "for me" as I still have to get photos that can be enlarged drastically for courtroom use. I use the one lens for everything and then when I go to Moab to run some trails...it goes with me. Today's equipment is simply incredible.
