Yikes!! It doesn't look economically feasible to fix to me! That hurts!!

I’m shopping around for a replacement body and a local college teaches photography and some of the kids are wizards with this stuff - we’ll see what happens.

It happens to all of us. Sorry about this.

Thanks - it definitely did not make my day. But nobody was injured so that’s a plus..

Sorry for your loss. Had a similar experience but was lucky enough to catch the camera as it was on the way down. Yep, from the picture I can tell its central Kansas. Flat as far as the eye can see. I once lived in Kansas City and the drive across Kansas on I-70 was nothing but miles and miles with nothing to see. Enjoyed the pictures of the eclipse.

Thanks - I’m looking for a replacement body now…
Yes, I-70 is boring - but if you take some of the state highways, there is a lot to see, and it’s not all flat :D
A small example of what can be found in the state -

Had my system set up to shoot the eclipse, turned to get my hat when I heard a crash - the foot slipped out of the head and my D7000 & Tamron 150-600 were on the concrete patio. Camera 0, gravity 1 - Anyway - I had tightened the foot - double checked it and was confident it was locked in - guess I was wrong... Since the camera took the brunt of the hit and damage, the lens is ok, not even a scratch (lucky there). I changed to my D610 and shot what was remaining of the eclipse - here's a couple from central KS -

I can’t take credit for the curriculum. It was created by the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association. I would like to propose it to the New York City Board of Education and local high schools.

Good luck - I’m sure the students would enjoy the opportunity

Yes this in the wrong place. Wait….What….I’m not an Admin!

The real message here is responsibility and commitment.

As a pilot (I’m not licensed) you need certain boundaries. First you must follow a set of rules established for you. There can be no wiggle room here. Train with someone who is equally committed to positive results. Foolishness has no place and neither does irresponsibility. It is totally sad. The parents indulged their child. They should have seen this coming but their eyes were closed or they were blind. Several years ago, I chose to become a pharmacist. My parents were glad I chose a career but school was demanding and snatched my personal time. When licensed I became firmly entrenched with responsibilities and needed to remain committed to my career.
I have been licensed for over 35 years never forgetting my initial commitments to patients.
As a pilot my first lesson was a birthday gift from my wife. We both got a chance to pilot a Piper Cherokee. It is fun but the learning takes time. When I am instrument rated for a Cherokee I will move on to an Apatche. I don’t want to be a licensed commercial pilot but I have plans to develop an aviation curriculum at my former high school.
Yes this in the wrong place. Wait….What….I’m not a... (show quote)

Good for you - sounds like a great plan - I would have loved a curriculum like that in high school. I got my license in ’76 in a Cessna 150 - type rated in the 172, 305, Piper Warrior, Archer, Beechcraft Bonanza, Navy T28 Trojan and finally the Twin Comanche PA-30. I love flying and will always remember this poster given to me when I got my license

It’s an Echeveria and the leaves are drooping because it needs more light. Look it up on google to get details and how to fix.

A quick synopsis - A disk image copies the operating system, including the boot sector, and all of the hidden files and programs that are needed to run the system. These files and programs are normally hidden and you need to get inside the operating system to see them. It also copies all of the programs and apps you have installed along with add-on’s that those programs have installed. It copies the registry which is a critical component of the operating system. The program will map the image to be an exact copy of the C drive so it has to read the drive, calculate the location of all the data bits and write them in the same sequence to the receiving medium. Also note, disk image is a great way to restore a corrupted system but be aware that it is tied to that specific system and generally cannot be used on another system.

My first experience with an earthquake was in Millington, TN in the mid 70’s. Found out that the Mississippi river is part of the New Madrid Seismic Zone which is the most active fault zone in the USA. Second, and subsequent experiences were in San Jose, CA in the ‘80s (San Andreas Fault) - thankfully no injuries to family or friends. One quake was a roller (like a ripple in a lake) and it popped a blimp hangar door off that fell on a couple of vehicles and flattened them.

Looks like safety to me - a lot of farms are going to multiple lights around the yards and buildings for theft prevention...
