What a coincidence but I have done option #2. I bought a d750 for night/astro/landscapes and gave my d7000 to a friend of mine along with the dx lenses.
I <3 my d750.

She could show a little more buttress.

I bet all the guys bark at her.

I wonder if she likes sappy guys.

Where is she from? I want to put a ring on it.

What's her number? I'm interested. I know humans and trees don't usually get together but I've had a long relationship with a palm tree.

Sorry for the acorny tree puns.

It looks similar to the constellation Corona Borealis but I don't think it's located in line with the milky way. It's hard to tell constellations and asterisms when there's tons of stars visible. I think I see Cygnus but I'm unsure. Could you provide the date, time, direction, and general location of the photo? I can probably help narrow it down.

How is the battery life unplugged?

I cannot say for certain as I have not run it low on battery. The Asus battery manager allows you to build different profiles for performance or longevity. I have mine set for performance and have used it at the airport and in the field with no issues. I especially like the option to only charge to %70 while plugged in and on (it will charge to 100% if laptop is off) to increase the life of the battery.

I bought this a few months ago and love it. Gorgeous display and runs lightroom like a champion.

Were you able to auto focus? I have the 150-600 G2 also and tried the 1.4 converter......will not auto focus.

No, the autofocus would hunt quite a bit. It locked a couple times but I didn't bother with it much. I had read on forums about this issue before I bought the tele so I was not surprised.
With no tele I was able to continuously focus on flying eagles. It performed better than I expected.

Quite impressive, but I do wish you allowed us to see the original and EXIF. Also, can you identify the 2X teleconverter that you used?

I just received my new G2 this week, haven't had much of a chance to try it out due to the weather.

Thanks for sharing.

I have done some edits in LR. I can process the RAW with camera settings and reupload the full photos for you. I'll get around to it.

I will eventually try this lens combo out for deep sky stuff. So far I'm happy with the results while testing it out in my back yard. Taken w/ a D750 mounted on a tripod.

Give this a shot:

1. Set the aperture to the lowest number f-stop.
2. Set the shutter speed 1/500.
3. Set metering to matrix or center weight.
4. Ensure Vibration Reduction switch is set to ON (on lens barrel).
5. Set focusing mode to Continuous.
6. Look through your camera at your toddlers, increase ISO until the exposure bar in the viewfinder shows correct exposure or slightly underexposed.

This should give you a decent starting ground. You can increase shutter speed to compensate for any motion blur but you'll need to up the ISO to bring the exposure meter close to center.

I have the 150-600 G2 and 2x tele for Nikon. Without the tele the autofocus works well, with the tele the scence needs to be very bright. I discovered this on forums before buying the lens. Even knowing that autofocusing would be an issue I got it anyway and I am happy with it. I don't mind manually focusing. Hopefully you won't be discouraged too much.

An interesting question. From the information given (variables, etc) I believe the answer would be 8x12 since both cameras are 24MP.
That however doesn't satisfy the question of visual acuity. If I understand you correctly, you would like to know what print size would allow the text in both frames to have the same DPI (each letter has the same amount of dots making it) on each print. If that is the case then changing print sizes won't do that for you. You would have to modify the distance of the full frame camera, bringing it closer to the subject. Off the cuff I would say bring it closer by a factor of .6 but that is only an assumtion. Bring it close enough to where the frames are identical in field of view.

Here's a couple more things you could try.

Reset BIOS to default and/or failsafe default. It should be in the options. Alternatively you can pull the CMOS batter for a couple minutes. Unplug the PC if you do this.

If the above doesn't work I would try setting the RAM speeds manually in BIOS. It'll probably be set on AUTO, select that to see a drop-down and select the option that matches your RAM specs.

If you change the RAM settings and can't boot, pull the CMOS battery to reset it to default.

Thanks Jim,
How would I do this?

I was referring to the wattage. 850 is plenty good. If it were low, say 500 or less it could have been a factor.

DRAM isn’t very power hungry, so highly doubtful the power supply has anything to do with it.

Probably not, but it's an easy check before getting into settings. Insufficient power and cheap power supplies can cause strange things.

The "first thing to check" items seems to have been covered. I would look at setting the RAM speed manually instead of AUTO in BIOS next.
