Nice image, print & frame, get it on the wall, be true to yourself.. I love it. And FYI it's a coot, not a duck..
No wonder God got the contract....

I have an urge to purchase a Sigma 8mm 2.8 Thank you...Bil
Sit in a cold bath until the urge goes away.. You'll use it a few times and it'll then rot in your camera bag until you try to sell it on EBay for a few pathetic dollars to some other hapless soul. There are much more sensible extreme and useful wide angle lenses to choose from and of course there's always stitching..
Nice grab Cujo, but what's the story with the Gaffer tape and cable tie on the chair leg ?
Kentucky Fried bred chickens like that for the extra drumsticks, but they couldn't catch 'em....
Great shot..
WOW !! You done good...Congratulations, magic happens.

The woodpecker visited nextdoors feeder but the light was rather awkward - made it hard to get shots with a nice eye highlight. These are the best of them.
Beautiful backlighting, just like side lighting always the preferred options. With regard to the catch-lights in the eyes, perhaps you might try
firing off a small flash, even the inbuilt flash can help in this regard. Distance is of course the enemy of flash, it dies quickly over distance.
The old inverse square Law.
Or you could get a little sneaky and experiment with deleting a few pixels in the appropriate spot to get a similar effect.
I hope you don't mind my posting an example.
Beautiful image..
Just a little advice to others that may want their images published. If you get the opportunity always take a vertical shot
too leaving space for printing such as the title of a magazine. Most books and mags are printed in a vertical format and
you get paid far more for front covers. Just something to consider when framing the shot.

Cute photo #3. What is bird on right? I think someone from UK posted one previously, and it's related to USA's chickadee, if same bird.
I kid you not, it's a Great Tit...
(Parus major)
Personally I'd suggest that you get your dogs outside and involved with nature, that's usually where they are the happiest.
And please lose the ribbons and bows, it's so unnatural and competes with the dog's face for attention in your photographs.
It doesn't make them cuter, they're plenty cute enough as it is..
Whatever you do keep trying.. Good luck.
In my day, way back when, they were called Hurricane Lamps..
